I appreciated Sean Baker using his Best Director Oscar moment to advocate for seeing movies in the theater, one of the experiences I have savored my entire life. I love going to the movies, in big chain theaters or tiny indie screens. I'm also dad to a freshman film student that shares that passion.

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but there is no good cable news channel. The only way any of them keeps viewers is by heightening your sense of unresolved crisis and despair. You shouldn’t watch them. The entire premise is bad for democracy.
