I read an insightful article which laid out the thesis that Trump has no principles or loyalties besides his own power. That is not quite true. His other principle is white supremacy. He hates refugees - except white ones. He doesn’t send ICE out to enclaves of Irish or Polish illegal immigrants.

Did I mention Elon Musk is a (rich) idiot? If he really wants to colonize Mars, that can never be done with chemical rockets launching from Earth. He could build a StarTram Gen 1 launcher, to put the bulk mass needed for a Mars colony into space. But he truly has no vision. Just delusions.

I'm retired, but still know people at the NIH. The scientists are suffering from the Musk Miasma -- depressed, oppressed, repressed -- just as Trump and Musk want them to be. Happy serfs aren't good serfs, after all.
