🥲

My #Yale colleague Harlan Krumholz explains why the cuts to indirect costs are a disaster for biomedical research in the United States. Want to do something about it? I'll list those who have to hear from us below. Share, recruit friends and family to help. 1/ www.statnews.com/2025/02/08/n....

This is crucial reporting from @katherinejwu.com. Among the data being scrubbed is “the agency’s AtlasPlus tool, which contains nearly 20 years of CDC surveillance data on HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, and tuberculosis…” www.theatlantic.com/health/archi...

I do not recall a 24 hour or one week news cycle with more disturbing news about the state of the presidency and the US government in it than those of today and the past seven days. ...and to this I say, "Fucking duh." The solutions? We demand universal healthcare (that INCLUDES vision, dental, and mental health... because how they're not a part of healthcare is beyond me) and the only war we should be involved in is class war. 🤷‍♂️

Are you kidding me with this shit, @washingtonpost.com? Top of the website headline, multiple stories, an editorial board piece and SIX goddamn columnists all had to weigh in about this?

Kash Patel: “We will go out and find the conspirators not just in government, but also in media.” This is a genuinely blood chilling choice. He may be repugnant enough to not get confirmed, but what if Trump were to make him deputy director? A giant step toward authoritarianism in and of itself.
