The Oxford Canal is not the easiest to cycle, as the towpath is badly maintained, in some places crumbling into the water and overgrown. So it is nice to arrive at the Isis Lock and Bridge in Oxford itself, where the canal joins the River Thames #canals #UKCanals #cycling

I've not been able to do as many rides as I would like this year due to getting married shortly. I know, I know, but apparently it takes precedence. At least I've managed to finish the Staffs and Worcester, and here is the lovely Falling Sands Viaduct near Kidderminster. #cycling #UKCanals #canals

This is soooo good!

Someone on Threads noticed you can type any random sentence into Google, then add “meaning” afterwards, and you’ll get an AI explanation of a famous idiom or phrase you just made up. Here is mine

Hello all. I would be interested to know how my post about locking on the Great Ouse got onto the cricket commentary on Radio 5 Live on Monday. Can anyone enlighten me? I'm just interested that's all!

A home match for me today: volunteer lockkeeping on the Great Ouse at St Ives, Cambs. Very quiet, 6 boats through in 3 hours. Luckily my partner was good company

Caldwall Lock on the Staffs and Worcester at Kidderminster looking pretty in the morning sun #UKCanals #cycling

Cycling the Oxford Canal the other day I came across this sight. Now then, how the hell would you manage that? #cycling #UKCanals

This old pumphouse on the Cromford Canal was built in 1849 to supply water to the #canal. It is maintained by volunteers, and is regularly open to visitors. The cycle ride from Langley Mill to Cromford, along the partly disused canal, is one of the hardest I've done (yet!) #UKCanals #cycling

As Easter is rapidly approaching I thought it was about time that I shared my sourdough hot cross bun recipe with you. I have refined it over the years but I believe this to be as good as it gets. Easy to follow instructions. #sourdough #bread #breadsky #hotcrossbuns #easter #baking

At the north entrance to Harecastle Tunnel on the Trent & Mersey the water is bright orange. Boats queue for their turn on the one-way system. There's no towpath through, but a nice ride through the country park over the top #cycling #UKCanals #canals

A cute lock and bridge on the Staffs & Worcester Canal at Wombourne.

Descending the Huddersfield Narrow #Canal from Standage Tunnel through the lovely town of Slaithwaite (pronounced Slowwit), is a fabulous ride #UKCanals #cycling

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

Ah that's better! Slight changes to the drawing to highlight the house, and darken the surrounding woods, makes it a much better picture #cycling #UKCanals #canals All my last years' rides now published on www.boddyonthetowpath.co.uk (fingers crossed the link works!)

I don't want to be on ghastly x anymore but it's where a lot of my sales come from so this post is a brazen request for shares to spread the word about my work on a kinder platform that isn't run by a dangerous megalomaniac! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Sara... #selfemployedartist #ukgifthour #shopindie

This set of locks in Northamptonshire, England, is close to Watford Gap. Best known for the M6 motorway services, the "Gap" is a low lying area where the Grand Union Canal, railway lines and major roads pass through, and have since Roman times #cycling #UKCycling #canals
