A handful of new followers, so let me introduce myself. My name is Nichole. Born with a rare disease. Intersex. Horror films are one of the languages I use to talk about disability and, specifically, my own lived experience. Grateful to be here.

Loved this read. @glitterburrito.bsky.social is such a wordsmith.

Today has been a day.

COMPANION wasn’t a film I honestly intended on covering. I went in to my screening just expecting a clean, fun time. And then the film and that ending happened. Another entry to the podcast archives for my fellow bionic friends.

Tomorrow on #AOASPodSquad: @bodiesofhorror.bsky.social returns to look at bodily autonomy in recent horror film #companion. Haven't seen the film? It's out on PVOD tomorrow, too!

Regular reminder: have folks you love living in DC? Do they happen to be a federal employee? Check in on them.

Please keep your eugenics to killing me and let’s leave my cat out of the fucking narrative.

Love, romance, sex, and all the pain that’s comes with? Let’s talk about where horror and love intermingle. Some of my faves? SPRING BONES & ALL MONKEY SHINES (I WILL take questions) YOUR MONSTER TEETH SPONTANEOUS EXCISION YOU’VE GOT MAIL

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG YESSSSSSSSS. This movie is SPECIAL and I will set my alarm for when this episode drops for immediate listening joy.

I’m clearly still on a high after the halftime show. I wrote a streaming list of 10 horror films with hip hop vibes for you to check out. inlovewithhorror.com/blogs/news/b...

I am seeing red. @momoshaty.bsky.social is a legend to my mind and the work/passion expressed in elevating voices struggling to otherwise be heard is awe-inspiring. Soldier on, and in defiance of this fuckery.

Saw COMPANION last weekend and still thinking about it. Didn’t expect it to speak to my body dysmorphia, but it actually screamed.

Sharai, Jazz, Kat, and Xero are hosting yet another amazing month of Black horror content because yes, it is Black History Month and we need to uplift Black voices more than ever. And before anyone says it, we have Black voices on the site all year. So stay tuned for articles, interviews, and more.

NEW EPISODE ALERT. Doing this one for my fellow bionic babes.

I REALLY struggled with how to approach this episode. On one hand? Watch this movie after you’ve had a traumatic surgical experience to turn your heart metal. One the other hand? You will struggle and that struggle will LAST.

Who dies in a Horror movie- political Who lives- political Who is the main character -political Who is the sidekick- political How are certain characters portrayed - political What you show (and what you hide) - political

New phone. Who’s this?

ICYMI @revdrmonica.bsky.social and I talked to author and beautiful human @adriennemareebrown.bsky.social about coping strategies, art and Octavia Butler on our webinar "Octavia Tried to Tell Us" back in 2020. Still relevant today. youtu.be/7IYFRIo-VWg?...

Today was an endoscopy and colonoscopy day and I give this DP 1.5 stars.

Have the movie up for a rewatch and this episode ready to go for this evening. VERY. EXCITED.
