From observation, it seems like there are big latency differences in terms of receipt time even within the same agency.

Disagree. Nobody who is competent really trusts these offers, which are coming from obvious amateurs outside the regular chain of command. The only ones considering it that I know are older workers close to retirement who have less to lose if it’s a rug pull.

If the names of federal employees are going to lobbyists, that would seem to be a Privacy Act issue?

Seems like whoever leaked this may have intended for Trump to see it and start thinking about leverage?

The TikTok ban is 100% about presenting a credible military deterrent to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. The natsec establishment believes this deterrent to be ineffective if the PRC and ByteDance hold algorithmic influence over US public opinion.

I don’t think anyone is arguing for illiberal egalitarianism here. I specifically said the Dems should choose the egalitarian version of liberalism.

Even more reason to embrace the more effective and popular version of liberalism (egalitarian) and not the Joe Biden kind

I’ve heard that it relates to her committee seniority. Her staff commands a lot of power that derives from this, so replacing her with someone competent would set them back to square one.

I feel like you’re overly focused on donor motivation for supporting X, when you should be looking at the merits of X to begin with. Stopped clocks and all that.

The reason is that Vladeck is a SCOTUS bar member and has a monetary interest in making Barrett like him.

Leaving aside the media criticism, do you think that Biden has a path to beat Trump?
comment in response to post
He can be bullied/persuaded into withdrawing! This is a completely different argument than in 2019, and revolves around a completely new set of facts. Also, unlike in 2019, the establishment is lining up on the opposite side. I think you’ve got a case of Lawyer Brain going on here lol!
