The other day, I saw this piece I'd forgotten. I've been awash in a sea of nostalgia. I vividly remember being a young boy poring over it, struggling to decipher how someone used just black lines to create a whole experience with action and texture and sound. I knew Wrightson before I knew the name.

Hey, gang, here's a nice little write-up/interview I did with @andyburnsbbp.bsky.social at BiffBamPop about the new BEASTS OF BURDEN OMNIBUS. Which is out in comic shops today. You will love this book like a puppy and a kitty and a baby bat in a basket on Halloween. #BuyLoveSupport

Happy President's Day for those who observe. I think today is in want of some black and white Arthur Adams! And this, this we can remedy.

Fans of me and @johnmccrea.bsky.social rejoice! For lo! We are doing more stuff together www.mykindofweird.net/horror-comic... Epitaphs from The Abyss #8

Happy Friday! Today, I think we all need some @mikemignola.bsky.social playing in DC's sandbox.

You have two days to order this new 304 pg book before the backerkit ship closes the door and takes off. Don't be left in the field crying with Toto in your arms. terry-moore-covers.backerkit.com/hosted_preor...

It's Monday, and Monday calls for some Art Adams. Because things are better with Art Adams!

Remembering the Man, the Legend, FRANK FRAZETTA, on his birthday. His legacy is stronger than ever and a constant inspiration to us all. @frazettagirls.bsky.social @sarafrazetta.bsky.social

Today I learned who owns the full 8-page Charles Vess story from Sandman #62. If I'm honest, I think I might appreciate these more than @terrymooreart.bsky.social... but it would be very close :) Maybe he really will invite me over to see them in person if I bring my own drool bucket.

For anyone who recognizes the art and craft of hand lettering.

JACK DAVIS Always love when I run into a drawing from one of my fave artists I hadn't seen before so I'm sharing this discovery with y'all :)

Given the current world, I'm suprised how little Gilgamesh II is brought up. Sure, it's a retelling of Gilgamesh with a bit of Superman origin for spice - but it also envisions a world where mega-corporations have eclipsed nation states and wage their own endless wars for global dominance.

Been reading Parts of a Hole and Echo again(Daredevil 1998 #9-14/51-55) and every time I read these 2 stories I'm blown away by the art, half this book should be in a gallery! @david-mack.bsky.social and Co, incredible work all round!!!

15 pages into "Info we Trust" and I can tell my brain is being rewired in a way that only really good books can do. "Reality only happens once".

it's not an exact science, due to different reward tiers, BUT based on the average pledge i NEED at least 493 backers to BREAK EVEN on this issue of I TOOK A HAMMER TO HELL Campaign...We're at 168 supporters, so if you can share this that would be awesome! Thanks! www.kickstarter.com/projects/mat...

It's Friday. I feel like some random @travischarest.bsky.social today. How about you?

Yes. And anyone who would like to lose themselves in the unique and richly textured world that Wendy and Richard Pini have created should shpreck on over to humblebundle! www.humblebundle.com/books/elfque...!

To share this more directly: Charles Pelto, who as Classic Comics Press, has published the complete ON STAGE and other great comics collections, is in need of some help. Please consider contributing if you can.

For those that don't know, Beasts of Burden is one the the better books this century. A real joy to read with just downright masterful art and storytelling by artists who know their craft. Plus, y'know, dogs and black magic. Anyways, you are awesome, and you deserve awesome stuff, so get this.

Some of the #FreeSketchesForKids I did at last weekend’s Indian Prairie Public Library @ipplinfo.bsky.social PopCon! Such a wonderful time sharing art and comics, with friends new & old. 1/2

I wonder if there is a German word for the joy of stumbling across a bunch of pieces from a favorite artist you haven't seen before?

These are delightful.

Galactus, by Alex Ross

OK. I've seen it. It looks good, but they are right - the voice is just... Not right.

Man, sometimes Jae Lee just nails uncomfortably sexy.
