This is a proper tear-jerker. I absolutely loved the relationship between Cael and Savannah. They're both grieving for a sibling and have gone on a trip to try and help them. They just get each other and what the other one needs to begin to heal. I cried buckets but loved every page. ❤️

This has been on my to be read pile for ages and it didn't disappoint. Imagine towns and cities being able to move and destroy each other. That's what this book is about. Destruction, death, chaos, bad men and friendship. Brilliant read.

This was a really lovely story about animal friends pulling together to help each other and meeting new friends along the way. It's set during WW2 and has action and drama and a lovely ending. It's the 2nd one in a series and of you haven't read that, it's well worth a read too.

3 children are sent forwards in time to collect a piece of technology that hasn't been invented yet. Unfortunately, the children end up on the Titanic days before it sinks. They have to use some quick thinking and sneaky tactics to help them (plus a bit of time travel magic!).

A great 2nd story about Cassie and her new life with magic. She is desperate to find her mum, but how far will she go? Cassie tries to stay out of trouble and follow the rules, but things just happen near her! She is joined by old friends, enemies and new family members.

It is a truly heartwarming story about a girl from Syria who wants stability and to dance. Her mum is struggling to adjust, her brother is young, and she is missing her dad. This book shows that even though times are hard, there are good people out there.

Being true to you and not trying to confirm to stereotypes will always win in the end. You might even find that along the way you help people AND make new friends. I loved this story and there were so many wonderful characters that I couldn't put it down.

Wow! What a story! So different from the musical/film but so good. It's dark in places and it's sometimes disturbing but so worth the read.

I'm not sure I'll get any more books read this year! I've read 136 books (some were audi books but they count). These are my top 8 in no particular order. They've made me laugh, cry, gasp and guess. I'm looking forward to another year of reading starting on Wednesday.

Imagine all the colour being drained from everything and then having to buy it back at huge expense. Imagine the heroes being 3 children, but no-one listens to them. That's exactly what happens in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story; it was dark and full of suspense.

New characters are off on an adventure, skillfully aided by a familiar face. It has all of the usual: picnics, dogs, mystery, adults doing things they shouldn't be doing and plans. A great trip down memory lane!

@redwellyfeats.bsky.social Happy Christmas. I hope you've had a lovely day. Have you opened your book yet?

What happens when a super spreader thinks that everyone needs to contract a virus but a scientist thinks she can create a vaccine that will stop people contracting it? Whole economies could be wipef out. Or, on the other hand, whole countries could reinvent themselves and their beliefs. Who's right?

This is such a powerful story of friendship, hope and trust. Worlds 100years apart can share a story and they certainly do when Semira finds a diary. Semira learns a lot about herself from this diary and it gives her the power to escape from the man who is controlling her and her mother.

My favourite children's book of the year: SAFIYYAH'S WAR by Hiba Noor Khan. Absolutely beautiful & brilliant; every school & library should have a copy. To which end, I am giving away FREE COPIES TO SCHOOLS & LIBRARIES! Repost & follow to enter; closes 25th Jan 2025! #BooksOfTheYear #books #giveaway

@biggreenbooks.bsky.social my parcel arrived. Thank you. Just chatting to @redwellyfeats.bsky.social and hoping we can wait until Christnas to open it!

Another action packed adventure for Bitsy and Kosh. This time they're joined by Matteo and a whole host of magical creatures. Bitsy and Kosh learn more about themselves and their family and have to learn to trust each other and their instincts. There's never a dull moment in this book.

I do a thing called The Big Green Book Club It's a monthly subscription service where I individually pick, wrap & send out a book each month to people based on the stuff you enjoy reading It's a great gift. JOIN HERE www.biggreenbookshop.com/book-club/in... repost this like mad if you like. Ta

I wasn't feeling great yesterday so snuggled up to finish these 2. They didn't disappoint. Both main characters were wonderful and I was hoping they'd come out on top (spoiler: they do!). Books about cakes and bookshops, what's not to love!

The girls at Shadowhall Academy start a ghost story telling club, but before long things get out of hand. There are spooky goings on occurring at the academy, but will teamwork set everything back to normal again? @hickesy.bsky.social Perfect for fans of spooky bedtime stories!

This is a great murder mystery for children (and adults) that's not too gory. There are twists and turns and I had no idea who committed it until just before it was solved. Fast paced and full of suspense, this was a real page turner.

Authors. What is this page for? The blank one. My class have been asking and I have no idea. It's in most of the books on our bookshelf and were stumped!

We're feeling festive today! Who wants to win this tote bag of goodies? Like this post! Give us a follow. You don't have to, but resharing is appreciated 💕 Enter by 7pm Sunday 24th November 2024. We'll pick a winner on Monday. UK only. #kidlituk

What a story! It's the kind of book that niggles at the back of your mind while you're at work and you can't wait to get home and read it. What a pair Reed and Bea are and then Helena joins them. And mum. What to say?! I think this will stay with me for a while.

I love it when a child recommends a book. A boy in my class has been reading. He isn't encouraged to read at home and this is the 1st book he's finished this year. He was buzzing! Some of the other children will read it now because they'll want to encourage him to read more! ❤️

This was a truly fantastic story and I really can't wait for the next 2 to answer all my questions (maybe not as many questions as Oswin would have!). This has everything: monsters, magic, friendships, secrets and bad choices. It was a page turner that I couldn't put down.

I've been skulking here for a while so I guess it's time to say hi👋. I'm a KS2 teacher with a passion for reading and helping children find a book that will start their reading journey. I read all sorts and regularly have aboutb4 or 5 books on the go 😀.
