I’ve been campaigning for people with the label of Personality Disorder for over 10 years. A diagnosis that harms people. I’m on the project board for NCISH and volunteer at Savte … I’m mainly retired

Started with a chemotherapy cream today for Bowens Disease so hopefully it will get rid of it if not I’ll need a biopsy. My physical health is a bit rubbish at the minute and it’s affecting my MH. Calling for support is futile I tried it’s awful .. robot springs to mind skillzzz are a cure !!!

Do you have lived experience of mental ill-health, distress, or trauma? NSUN is interested in hearing from people who have experience of doing media/press work, with this survey feeding into a process of co producing guidelines for engaging with the media.

Over past few days, I’ve heard awful stories about US academics working in health equity having their grants cancelled by NIH. Vital work on suicide, HIV, LGBT health. People’s careers damaged & lives of those already vulnerable harmed. Sadly, lives will be lost. Thinking of those affected 💔

“This is going to be remembered in the same way as the poll tax for Margaret Thatcher and tuition fees for Nick Clegg. Those caused riots. This won’t, but demonising disabled people will not be forgiven”. 💔letters in @theguardian.com on #DisabilityBenefits www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Force sick and disabled people into work—and you don’t save money. You fuel suicide. Worsen illness. Deepen stigma. Break lives. This isn’t reform. It’s cruelty and it will kill time and time again. #DisabilityBenefits

Disability assessments are notoriously incredibly traumatic and triggering. Many claimants have increased self-harm, suicidal ideation and sometimes hospitalisation before them. Imagine the pressure it would now be if 4 points ON ONE ITEM is necessary not just for PIP but LCWRA!

No you need to do more, directly talk to government, support DPOs action and participate in legal challenges. Step up.

Do foreign visitors need to take clean phones and computers now when visiting the US, like when going to Russia or China? www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

Loafing

Things to look forward to going to Stockholm in July to watch Leeds my team v Man U my wife’s team .. what could go wrong??

The last 20 years of campaigning around mental ill-health, distress and trauma focused too little on changing the material circumstances of those who live with mental ill-health as disability. In answering the question 'what is the place of those unwell in society?' the answer is now 'marginalised'

Oh to be young

No words can adequately convey the horror, rage, betrayal, we feel at the conscious cruelty gov have displayed in this the most ableist, ignorant, uninformed, vicious attack on sick & disabled people since the introduction of the welfare state.

Tax the rich not push vulnerable disabled people with poor physical and or mental health under a bus .. what a set of Feckers the Labour Party are ..

My youngest daughter 24 is in Sri Lanka staying in hostels they came across this beauty on a hike. I’m so happy she’s living her best life

This country is awash with money. The very rich are rich beyond imagination. So when Starmer wants to stay within his arbitrary fiscal rules, who does he decide to take money from? The very rich? No, from people with disabilities who depend on benefits for the bare minimum of a decent life.

This aged so well that we had to check whether it was genuine, and it is……

It's encouraging that a growing number of MPs are waking up to reality. Not only would cutting welfare support for our most vulnerable people be cruel and indefensible, there is a clear alternative: a wealth tax. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

Streeting is doubling down on Labour’s fixation with ‘overdiagnosis’ of mental illness as the leaked new PIP rule (requiring 4 pts on a single component) is designed to make it harder for people with mental illness to qualify. To justify this, he has to undermine our credibility.

What an utterly unhelpful and ridiculous thing to say. We hoped the days of unqualified ministers stigmatising the mentally unwell and disabled were over. We were wrong. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Cutting the #PIP thresholds won’t REDUCE disability, it will INCREASE it. Why? ❌ People will lose essential care, mobility aids & support. ❌ Poverty, stress & untreated conditions will worsen health. ❌ Many who can work with support will be pushed out. This is NOT REFORM -it is social vandalism.

As a society we should support and care for our most vulnerable. The Labour vision of the welfare state was one that supported people “from cradle to grave”, not just those who are capable of working. How we as a society treat children, the elderly and the disabled is a reflection of our humanity.

New: Labour plans to cut disability benefits instead of imposing a wealth tax. Ben Jennings’ cartoon nails it. A government that fines disabled people while letting the rich park wherever they want—both literally and politically.

FT Leeds United 2-0 Millwall A blip does not become a wobble. Important result and a deserved one. Total domination in the second half. #lufc

Sent two emails to my MP Louise Haigh re benefit cuts and enforced work .. my previous email two months ago showed she is pro cuts

“Instead of cutting benefits for disabled people, wouldn’t the moral thing to do, the courageous thing to do, be to make a real tough choice and introduce a wealth tax on the very wealthiest people in our society?” @richardburgon.bsky.social #PMQs
