Sometimes people say, "I don't care; I've got nothing to hide." We should not so willingly cede our privacy. For in so doing, we give up an important freedom -- the freedom to decide what we disclose about ourselves. Here's how we put it in 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑀𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑦:

My (non-bitcoin) book with @resistance.money is available for free (pdf version) for the next week or so. www.cambridge.org/core/element...

Bitcoin *IS* for criminals. (And everyone else.) Here’s a book where three academic philosophers, addressing Bitcoin specially and not crypto generally, admit from the very beginning that, yes, Bitcoin is for criminals. Then provide an framework for analyzing whether bitcoin is a net good or a net

My new book with @bradleyrettler.com is out — 'The Problem of Divine Personality!'. For the next two weeks, you can download it for free from Cambridge University Press.

My friends @resistance.money, @bradleyrettler.com, & Craig have written a wonderful book on the philosophical case for #bitcoin. I think it's exceptional. Buy it at Amazon (a.co/d/eEhyC3u) or DM me here--I have a few PDF copies to give out. tl;dr: turns out there are some positives AND negatives!

Every resistance needs money. resistance.money

We’re coming for you @Aristotle

It took until we hit 20m users, but a sizable #bitcoin community is finally forming on Bluesky and it isn’t the toxic bros you were expecting. When you’re interacting with the progressive bitcoiners here, please don’t block on sight. You’d be surprised at the values you share.

#HR9495 will be voted on again tmrw, 11/21—The bill would hand the incoming President a tool to crush free speech & expression & dismantle advocacy groups & other nonprofits. It *will* be used to target & punish political opponents. Tell yr Reps to vote NO on #HR9495 action.aclu.org/send-message...

Fascinating result. Banning bitcoin mining in low-emission countries raises global carbon emissions. But it makes sense: it incentivizes more mining in high-emission countries.

A whole lot of people who didn't previously get it are starting to understand the importance of having access to a private, censorship-resistance, inclusive digital cash -- in short, to resistance.money. I'm here to help.

#KOSA supporters have refused to listen to LGBTQ youth for years. Now they're renewing their push for this dangerous legislation, even though we know it will be used by the incoming Trump admin to attack the most vulnerable. Make sure ppl know the truth about this bill www.them.us/story/kids-o...

It’s getting real! www.routledge.com/Resistance-M...

If you haven't had a loved one in jail, you may have no idea what a hideously cruel racket prison telecom really is. The rates for calls or emails are extortionate--because the contractors literally have a captive audience. Good on Massachusetts for ending this vile practice.

Incarcerated people face tons of obstacles to any academic endeavor they undertake. The fact that these incarcerated students *finished a degree* at *Northwestern* is a monumental accomplishment. We must provide better educational opportunities for incarcerated Americans. They can do the work.

Revised version of resistance.money/book submitted to our editor! 250 pages, 12 chapters, 450 footnotes, 650 works cited. I am so proud of it. Can’t wait for y’all to get to read it.

Payday lending is legal in 29 states. The average annual interest rate is ~400%. Most people who take out one loan take out 4 more. The most common reason to take out a payday loan is to pay the interest on a different payday loan.

Dotting the "i"s and crossing the "t"s on resistance.money/book We are sooooo close.

Clearly Greenpeace knew nothing about bitcoin when they accepted Ripple’s $5m to use their reputation to attack it, and they’ve refused to learn about Bitcoin’s anti-authoritarian properties or climate benefits. I can't put my finger on why, but I predict a Greenpeace token soon.
