In 1945 United States was indisputably the most economically dominant country in the history of the world. Accounting for just over 50% of global industrial production. But what do historians know? I am deeply fascinated, however, by where Trump has read about McKinley, given that he doesn’t read.

Trump literally named as head of the Social Security administration a low level employee who was suspended and being investigated for illegally sharing classified data with Elon Musk. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

The Italian job, except the main characters are betrayed by one of their own during a great egg heist, and then train for weeks to drive a bunch of Mini Cooper into the thief’s mansion to steal all of the eggs back, divide them amongst themselves, and retire.

Here’s our entire 25 minute interview with Chris Kluwe @chriswarcraft.bsky.social He’s 🔥. Very worth sending around because courage is contagious. Also send to your reps and ask them why a former NFL player is taking direct action while they are slouching towards fascism. youtu.be/Pprrm6TYmZU?...

Trump’s EO ruining the independence of federal agencies shows the real goal of Musk and Trump is not efficiency or even winning the culture wars. It’s thievery. And they are *exceptional* thieves. My latest in @thenation.com

Holy shit. Morse Tan, former Trump ambassador at large, is on stage at CPAC defending impeached former South Korean President Yoon Sul Yeol’s attempted coup and imposition of martial law, comparing him to Trump and saying he was attempting to save the country from Communism.

The Trigon Shirtwaist Fire.

One more time for the people in the back: Trump does not give a f*ck about working folks!

Who’s going to do the commercials, Elon Musk? Donald Trump Junior?

Just got an email from a journal where I am roughly 6 months behind on turning in a book review and now I can never ever complain to any student ever again from being late with an assignment.

Gosh, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems like something was omitted in this round up of the AHA in New York. Some important history that our professional organization does not seem to want to acknowledge.

Dammit there goes all of our escape plans.

Spoke to @democracynow.org about the history of strange bedfellows between cost-cutters and Leviathan-tamers and the glimmer of hope in Germany pushing back against Musk's aspiration to be global kingmaker. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIPW...

Trump is totally going to do a primetime special with Geraldo Rivera where they speculate on whether or not the gold is in the vault at Fort Knox and then open it while Sean Hannity makes mildly pornographic noises in the background.

it’s ya girl asking the CT legislature to step up for higher ed! so proud to roll with @uconnaaup.bsky.social and our union sibs from across the state!

The left has been calling for similar military budget cuts for decades. Let’s not default into supporting trillion dollar military budgets when under any other circumstances we would also be supporting significant reductions in military spending. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/u...

Trump: “ we’re going to go into Fort Knox to make sure the gold is still there. I saw an ad on Fox saying we should buy more gold. Gold. It’s a beautiful thing. I hear there’s a dragon guarding it. A big pile. It’s a disgrace what’s happening to the gold. But we’re going to check on it.”

Spent both of my classes today, including my 150% world, history survey, talking about Trump and Ukraine and this historical moment. I think students are beginning to get that this country‘s history, and maybe world history is spinning off in radically different direction.
