It's pretty wild that Carney is rushing all these laws to build "critical infrastructure", mentions nothing about clean drinking water in Indigenous communities, and Canadians just shrug and pretend 2021 didn't exist liberal.ca/cstrong/build/

Lansdowne 2.0 would cost more but offer much less: ottawacitizen.com/opinion/lans...

first, this is an intentional strategy. get so big and break so many laws that enforcement against you becomes impractical or unpalatable. second, if you have to choose, and you choose AI over art, you should be shot into space

Commercial rent control, shop local campaigns and small business tax classes: yes, for sure. But we also need to embrace not-for-profit models. Cities including Ottawa already own, for example, public market spaces. Why not main street? Not-for-profit land trusts?

Impossible to communicate to people that once you decide that a group more vulnerable than you can be sacrificed in the name of your own safety or interests that you have already entered into an tacit agreement that you can also be sacrificed in the interests of a group less vulnerable than you.

Every single Canadian member of the IDF who was engaged in the genocide needs to be prodecuted if they return to Canada.

Poilievre argues the Liberals made us too reliant on American trade. In January, he is on record advocating for "more trade" with the Americans. A perfect example of reactionary politics, that meanders to whatever the mood of the moment suggests. Opportunistic rather than principled ideas. #cdnpoli

North American patio culture delivering those postcard views. 😍

In my latest for @breachmedia.ca, I break down Pierre Poilievre's criminal justice agenda, including mandatory minimum sentencing, bail, parole, and serving sentences in the community breachmedia.ca/on-criminal-...

Two facets of wealth inequality in Canada: billionaires and housing Under threat from the US and Trump, to build a stronger Canada we need to rein in the power of the super-rich, share the wealth and build homes for all. My latest @bcpolicy.bsky.social bcpolicy.ca/2025/03/27/w...

Wow. Just brazen assholery #canpoli

This is an outstanding article by @zoeyunker.bsky.social for @thetyee.ca, documenting how higher fossil fuel prices were the leading cause of post-COVID inflation & hence Canadians' affordability concerns: thetyee.ca/News/2025/03.... Costs of the 2022 oil shock=$12000 per household over 3yrs. /2

Hey @bsky.app ... why does my main page now say "invalid handle"???

"I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks. Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

It’s incredibly damning that you have to go to the British press to learn this. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

If we look to history, or to global contemporary movements, there is one constant: the only way to stop tyranny is through workers walking off the job. And yet, the lack of union density in the US has primed it for a fascist take-over. noraloreto.substack.com/p/the-only-t...

I have some thoughts on how we should re-shape Canada’s economy in the wake of the trade war: www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

When Mike Myers wore his "Canada Is Not For Sale" t-shirt on SNL, he mouthed a secret code: "elbows up." It's a reference to the great Gordie "Mr. Elbows" Howe who punished those that messed with his team. You heard him Canada: elbows up. If anyone asks why, tell them that Mike Myers sent you.
