It's almost here! StarTorn, book 12 in my Starstruck series, releases Friday, Feb 28, exclusively on my website! (It'll release at all the other vendors on March 14th.) brendahiatt.com/books/young-...

A HUG FOR YOU EVERY DAY! Historical romance authors believe in Happily Ever After and Love Conquers All. So in that spirit, we're offering the gift of virtual hugs this month. Click on the link for today's hug--and a FREE GIFT from @brendahiatt.bsky.social www.glynnis.net/landing_page...

Seriously?? Thousands of books have been targeted for removal from school and public libraries.  In fact, we've been tracking thousands of book bans here. Yet, the U.S. Dept of Education released a statement calling book bans a hoax! bit.ly/4h76cS5 via @everylibrary.bsky.social

Today I typed THE END on StarTorn, my next Starstruck book. Because I'm such a slow writer, this is a Very Big Deal! (I began this book around mid-March) Still plenty of revising to do, of course, but I'm fairly confident I'll make my February release date. Whew!! 😅

Small Business Saturday is a great time to support authors selling their books from their own websites. (Businesses don't get much smaller than that, LOL!) My own bookstore (YA SF romance, historical romance and one mystery) is here, just to get you started 😉 brendahiatt.com

Author empowerment is my jam. Back when we were all trad pubbed, I compiled surveys on author earnings to be widely shared and presented workshops on how the money worked (and who was paying what). Then indie publishing became a thing, and now direct selling. Upward & onward!

Who else here is an indie author selling their books from their own websites? Let's talk!

Dipping my toe into this new space, rather like a doe cautiously approaching the watering hole. I like book stuff, writer stuff, science stuff, funny stuff... Kittens are good, too. Toxic stuff, not so much.
