Hi, former White House intern, DNC communications staffer, and re-election team partner here: One does not ‘slip’ into the Oval Office. Does not. Period, ever. That’s not a thing.

yes yes yes yes “You can’t rally people to your side if you are behaving as a spectator yourself.”

The Ed Dept is launching an “End DEI” portal and asking people to share “concerning practices”

Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts. Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

The Republican budget plan: -Cut SNAP by $230 billion -Cut Medicaid by $880 billion -Give $1.1 trillion to the top 1%

My open letter to Elon Musk.👇 Mr. Musk, You recently criticized me and another prominent lawyer fighting for the rule of law and democracy in the United States. I am used to being attacked for my work, particularly on the platform you own and dominate. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/my-o...

That's 9 tweets an hour (plus replies). This dude is allegedly running the world's 7th biggest company (by market cap) as well as like 6 other companies and completely overhauling the federal entire government. And high as a fucking kite the whole time.

This is on us. He told us during the campaign he was gonna purge the military, the DOJ, the FBI, and the intelligence community of people loyal to the law & the Constitution, and replace them with people loyal only to him. He told us he was gonna do this. And we still elected him. This is on us.

The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday said it would drop a case accusing Elon Musk’s space technology company SpaceX of refusing to hire certain immigrants.

The only comprehensible way to understand what’s happening is these miscreants are abusing their power to dismantle our democratic govt, destroy our democratic alliances to further enrich themselves and ally with dictatorships around the world. Pain, suffering, stability, security—they don’t care.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

So much for free speech. Let's make this cartoon by @mluckovich.bsky.social go viral. I'm married to @tealcartoons.bsky.social so I might be biased, but cartoons have long played a vital role in shaping political debate - both past and present. This type of censorship is deeply troubling.

Posting here a thread by Stathis N. Kalyvas, who is not yet in BlueSky:

the single most un-american and anti-constitutional statement ever uttered by an american president

Unreal. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste. www.cbsnews.com/news/us-depo...

How old am I? I could not tell you one thing Kendrick Lamar said tonight. Not a word.

I wrote about the importance of "prebunking," in light of rumors that Elon Musk may have purchased $40 million in Super Bowl ads to spread misinformation about the "fraud" and "corruption" in this vital agency. I hope you will read and share asharangappa.substack.com/p/prebunking...

Elon Musk shares the message that Social Security is “a ripoff.” The Musk-Trump Administration has their sights on Social Security. We are fighting their tyranny and corruption, but Republicans are bending the knee. People need to know this is happening.

This is why the current crisis is existential for the United States of America

Once again, this is because all of this is a job for Congress, under Article I of the Constitution. The Framers could not imagine legislators so cravenly lacking ambition & fealty to oaths that they would let the president run amok like Mad King George. Nor did they intend the courts to fix this.

Unquestionably, major policy changes, edicts and directives handed down by the new Trump administration will upend lives. But I've also been struck by the widespread efforts to erase/whitewash history. Stick with me for a pretty shocking series of events from just the past few weeks.

ELON IS ALLOWED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. NOT YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES OR STUDENTS & PARENTS. I WILL BE BACK.

They’ve called armed federal officers to the scene. We aren’t dangerous. We are here to represent our people. To defend public education. This is an authoritarian regime. You cannot block members of Congress from entering the Department of Education.

wow

For as much as people have memory-holed 2020, they’ve memoryholed the Delta and Omicron waves even more. 16k people per day were dying during Delta in September 2021 and 20k per day were dying during Omicron in January 2022. There was still significant reason to be concerned!

A former top Treasury Dept. Official says the payment records are so sensitive they are always off limits for political officials to protect Americans’ privacy. The breech is enormous.

Exactly this. It’s generation-spanning damage

These look like fake headlines in a dystopian themed oppo ad.

There would not be a font size large enough for the NY Times editors to use demanding Biden resign.

This seems bad.

3 Senate Dems just voted for cloture for Lee Zeldin, a climate denier with a 14% lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters for his time in Congress, for EPA Administrator: John Fetterman Ruben Gallego Mark Kelly Bad on the merits; even worse in how it normalizes Trump's actions

PEPFAR, started by George W. Bush, has saved more than 25 million lives worldwide. 600,000 people would die over the next decade in South Africa alone, which relies on PEPFAR for only 20% of its H.I.V. budget. Some countries are almost entirely dependent on the program.
