”Fuck off“ NDP MP Charlie Angus had some choice words for convoy livestreamer Chris Dacey after Dacey and his gang of far-right activists followed Angus around at a pro-Ukraine protest outside the Russian Embassy in Ottawa this afternoon

Reading the Hardy Boys in late middle age because I didn't in pre-adolescence. Is this the first - perhaps only - to feature a gay character? And whatever happens to Frank and Joe's ice boat? brianbusby.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-... #canlit #hardyboys

Canadians across the country are rallying behind a petition to revoke Elon Musk's citizenship. He wasn't born in Canada. He represents profoundly anti-democratic values. In Canada citizens can present these petitions to Canada’s parliament. I support them. charlieangus.substack.com/p/musk-doesn...

Second old book purchase of 2025, this one published in 1923 by Heinemann. Not in the best shape, but in twenty years of collecting Stringer I'd never once seen the dust jacket. If you're curious, the man with the gun is a Bolshevik intent on blowing up Wall Street. He's portrayed as a villain.

There were Black authors who wrote romance for Harlequin and Silhouette in the 80s and 90s, but they often had to write white stories in order to get published. Here are four examples: romancehistory.com/2024/02/10/w...

And just in case anyone is missing flag content on my feed (ahem), my latest for the LAC blog is up today. Read about my favourite flag debate also-ran. And, in the spirit of also-rans, I "run, Forrest, run" into a Forrest Gump reference, 30 yrs on. #cdnhist #vexillology tinyurl.com/mskcffjm
