My students are watching Ryan Clark talk about analyzing the market and building game hooks. Next they’ll watch @ramiismail.com talk about pulling together a business case. Finally they’ll watch @gamemakerstoolkit.com talk about coming up with game ideas. They’ll make a pitch presentation ….

@alanteachesthings.bsky.social I get to attend the VPGathering at BUAS in April and I wondered if there was any place you particularly loved in or around Breda, that I might visit?

One man shouldn’t be able to do all of this evil.

I am cleaning my fountain pens - halfway through the process I was concerned about tomorrow - what would I take notes with? Then I remembered that I’ve got like 4 more downstairs.

I checked Twitter this weekend, to check up on the people that like to hear from and haven’t in awhile - to see if they were there. They weren’t! I hope that they are taking care of themselves, touching grass, seeing with clear eyes, being in community IRL.

I heard about this from a student this weekend and another bsky-er today. I'm going to spend this semester learning this. I was talking to a buddy about how I feel about switching to Unreal from Unity a couple years ago. It was a difficult transition & I still prefer text code to blueprints.

Mario Party (the first one) for the N64 had Mini Game Island. I spent a lot of time between 5th and 8th grade playing these minigames.

Itch.io let's you link your bluesky account now!

Oh my god! SNES > Kirby Super Star > Spring Breeze. The onboarding tutorial was a masterpiece. The game itself had so much built into it. This is a game to study and emulate. It took 10 minutes to complete, lol, so if anyone wants to tell me about more snes Kirby to play, please do!

Back in 2021, PMG reported on the unseen games industry crunch taking place at outsourcing studios in SE Asia. Since then, the companies we looked at have continued to work on some of the biggest games in the world, without any push to improve the conditions of the artists doing that work. (1/7)
