how about we stop terra forming earth into venus?

just thinking about how we're still fighting the failure of reconstruction. and our opponents haven't updated their shallow playbook.

Democrats are fundamentally misunderstanding the moment: We're not asking them to be *legislators* right now. We need them to be *politicians.* There's nothing to be done about the legislative situation. They're right about that. But there's PLENTY to be done as politicians.

This makes the media's inability to just call it a Nazi salute seem even more ridiculous.

Stop mass deportations with this one simple trick: wapo.st/41apYFB (gift link)

Very much like the Iraq War, somehow "I thought Elon Musk was a genius until a couple years ago" is now considered the more respectable and serious opinion than "I knew he was a fraud for a decade and was never fooled by him."

This is literally the street I live on. I can’t stress enough how much of an improvement this has made to my life.

Shutting down existing EV charging hardware, which has already been paid for, is the definition of government waste. But I don't hear DOGE doing anything about this… 🙄 electrek.co/2025/02/21/t...

Costco and Trader Joes are yin and yang. Together they form a harmonious balance. One sells big piles of normal food, the other sells small piles of weird food. These are the two food piles people need

The Quirked Up White Boy Foundation is my non-profit for making sure men don't grow up without at least one guy friend they can call to send an outfit like this to so that said guy friend can say "hey man are you doing alright"

Looks like my app has been updated and, while it is now in every way worse, it's also New and Different, which is what I demand as a consumer

“These results suggest that some automakers need to tweak their pedestrian automatic emergency braking systems.” Bit of an understatement wouldn’t you say?

omg he thinks he looks cool

What I fear is going to happen is that Trump will be unpopular, we’ll get some sort of weird capital controlled stasis, and what we have lost in the past month plus will never get rebuilt. Just like a new normal of austerity and hollowed state capacity. It’s imperative to deliver a real defeat.

Imagine if the CEO of Purdue Pharma went on TV and said there were “pluses” to opioid addiction

Class war against poor, disabled, and working people being waged by the world’s richest man.

Mitch McConnell is responsible for so much of what's wrong with politics today and is directly responsible for Trump's re-election. No Democrat should be there to "pay tribute."

Remember when you could have a beer with your friends? That’s gone now isn’t it, there’s no more beer, no more friends, let alone somehow combining the two. Friendship and beer in any kind of overlap is illegal now, because of woke

Who would buy a car without a trunk? Just like a trunk makes a car practical, a good bike rack and panniers transform your bike into a true everyday vehicle. Whether for groceries, commuting, or weekend trips, more storage means more reasons to ride. Load up and enjoy the freedom!

fact check: since congestion pricing started, subway crime is down 36%.

what an admission. a 2 tier system of drivers & nondrivers. what a worldview. driving is the only salvation, something that is objectively awful and only gets more awful as more people do it. other countries have safe subways, but here, we're told anything other than driving is dangerous.

I really hate the "put up with the grime, it's a city" mindset, but I hate this sort of declinism more. A country that gives up on public transit bc it's scary, and crams more people into cars, is a failure.

So much of the coverage of bike lanes fails to accurately identify the stakes for those supporting infrastructure and those opposed to it. @momentummag.bsky.social really nails the dynamic, and I wish stories about "local opposition" were more focused on identifying who is speaking out and why.

So we’re defining being a man as having a beer and telling a joke? That’s about as profound as saying women be shopping. What happened to providing for your family? Helping your community? Protecting the weak?
