All the work stress of training two new employees and my most senior employee putting in his notice yesterday was tough. One good thing was the chaotic work day kept me too busy to dwell on the fact that yesterday was the anniversary for the end of my marriage, when I was told she never loved me.

Feeling defeated. Having my first "this is absolutely stupid, I should cut my hair, I'll never be able to pull off long hair" moment after obsessing over the back of my head and probably losing hair. Enough so that it caused a spiral and a two hour nap. Blah, just feeling gross.

Even though some major issues occurred late last night that caused stress for the room I will say this was probably the best FWA I've experienced in years. Sure there was some ups and downs but I tried to focus on saying "yes" to everything. Had our little "adventuring party" and we bonded.

I am really curious to see the data and hear first hand experiences from vendors in the Dealers Den and Artist Alley on how they were impacted by the FWA virtual queues. Those are always places I liked to go on a whim, window shop and come back later to buy. The virtual queue hassle prevents that.

Just so people know where I'm coming from. I've been in this fandom for over 20 years. I started, ran or advised my local statewide furry group, Palmetto State Furs, from 2010-2024. I will never forgive any Raider for trying to co-op and steal something I dedicated years to creating.

If it hasn't been abundantly clear at this point, being furry has always been political. It's been there long before I started being a fur in 2002. Be wary of anyone who tells you otherwise. Furry as we know it started in the early 80's as a response to being rejected from Sci-fi spaces.

1.5 work days left till FWA. I feel like just yesterday I was thinking "dang, 6 months till FWA better think about con plans." Four days will come and go like a whirlwind. It'll be a blur of emotions and drive-by greetings. Will do my best to make it a good one even if I feel anxious about it.

I'm finding my favorite little side isn't the hyperactive puppy or the little gremlin but being a goodie-two shoes wants to help those in charge and be a good girl. Maaaaybe a bit of a tattletale when these others are doing something bad. But not everyone can be there to stress the bigs out.
