Chicago. Parent. Fat. Bisexual. Bipolar II. Loud. Still masking. Kind of cute if you squint. Nerdy, but in a way that's fairly socially acceptable now. I have a kid, Nikole, who is she/they and a spouse, N, who is he/him. Avatar by @rally.luckyraven.cc

Diane and Valentine are top-tier folks I made it a point to drop by and say hi to at C2E2. Please help them recover from this critical failure roll that was no fault of their own. www.gofundme.com/f/drunk-driv...

listen. God works in mysterious ways or whatever but it is hard to describe how spectacularly unpopular the highly conservative U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops has made itself with the rest of church leadership. the Vatican sees them as WAY too enmeshed in GOP politics and Francis legit hated them

The theater I saw Sinners at custom picked the previews and chose O Brother Where Art Thou and Blade and not only was it incredibly apt but now I want to do the insanest double feature of all time

For those puzzled why the strong box office opening of SINNERS is being framed as disappointing somehow, Vulture gave the game away two days ago. Studios are freaking out about letting the copyright revert to Coogler, so the film can't be seen as a success. The fix is in.

Chicago Gothic

Covid is kicking my ass and I'm exhausted and angry and here's the first four pages because I'm sad I can't release publicly this year because my brain decided to leak into my ears.

Thanks to my friend Harriet for pointing out that the women went to Christ's tomb and saw he was not there, the angels showed up to describe what happened, & the women then told the apostles, who dismissed them. A Biblical account of women not being believed.

"I mean, they're just sitting there quietly eating waffles or whatever it is bisexual people do..." My child has their finger FIRMLY on the pulse of bisexuality.

I believe in you Royce. Your team has made good progress on that goal already.

"The German Coast Uprising of 1811, when a wave of enslaved rebels marched from sugar plantations east of the Mississippi River to New Orleans, burning plantation houses along the way." I had no earthly idea.

nothing received today please help

Argh I need to start lifting weights… shredding 5 1/2 cups of cheese & stirring a mornay sauce for 20 minutes left me tiiiiiiiirrrrred. RIP my shoulder.

Wheel of Time: "... and it was so bad that there's a board game so that kids remember the horrible things that happen and are careful not to repeat history. Now, the way women access power is..." 9 Princes in Amber: "why is this part of the ocean magic?" "IDK, it just is buddy."

I need yall to understand that there juat aren't that many filmmakers who use PHYSICAL FILM on their movies anymore. I tried it ONCE on a job and it frustrated me to no end. It takes a special sort of dedication and intent to even want to do this. Sinners was real fun, good and important.

It’s IMMIGRANTS not MIGRANTS. “Migrants” is a right wing buzzword used to imply that they’re migratory and not a permanent part of our communities, we have empathy for immigrants, a word which implies coming here to stay. Don’t let them alter your vocabulary.

While it's nice to see more noise about how terrible JKR is, as a trans woman I would appreciate it if there was less focus on "here's what you can read instead" and more "here's how you can materially help trans people". We're the victims here, please stop centring the purity of your bookshelves.

wow they're still doing this

no more rectangle, only rosemary

So I have two choices: Cervantes or Sartre?

Ok this is starting to come together. #Bleys #Amber #Trump #ChroniclesOfAmber #RogerZelazny #WiP

I gotta say, the headline did not prepare me in any way for the subhead.

As the attached images show, when I try to pair a 3D head & 3D body in #ClipStudioPaint #csp the added head kind of floats. This happens with other heads & bodies too. Wtf? How do I fix this?

I need people to understand that Barthes meant "Death Of The Author" to mean that authorial intent should not be the primary lens by which to criticize and understand a text; it has nothing to do with "is buying a book by a bigot acceptable" it is about LITERARY CRITICISM

Friendly reminder that I'm in fact a journalist
