We’re so obsessed with “suffer culture” and “pulling ourselves up from our bootstraps” and this horrible self importance crap that we forget that at one time society decided to distribute work/education roles for us to thrive and for everyone to play a part in society as equals, not as competitors.

Why are Americans so mean to themselves? Which in turn, makes them mean to others. A majority wouldn’t make an animal suffer (on purpose) yet it’s “woke” to think that all humans are entitled to fundamental rights. We don’t need to suffer period, let alone while the rich get richer.

Agreed - it feels like they’re in a cult. No matter what he does they’re happy even when it’s entirely against their interests or why they voted for him. These polls mess with my sanity daily.

(And it’s so depressing and scary)

Everyday I look at his approval rating, I look at google search trends, I look at his comments, I see if @foxnewscorporation.bsky.social is doing any real journalism that would inform their audience that there is a crisis. Everything points to the fact that many still think the 🍊 is serving them.

I think from what I’ve been reading/seeing/hearing, the challenge is the voters who voted for the 🟠 man, think he’s FIXING the crisis, and the 🔵 voters understand that he’s the one destroying/creating the crisis.

Honest question but do you think this could push the USA into the economic depression all the folks warned about for the last few years? I’m a rational person who is starting to feel increasingly anxious about how this will impact banks and the stock markets.

I shared this on your other post but this is my fav TikTok on this, I am still mad as hell but it softened me and I hope it softens folks who voted for Trump who were duped or lied to. There are of course some who knew what they voted for but most probably didn’t. www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2j9B6hw/

I think what @mcuban.bsky.social is trying to say, is it leads to othering. Othering/dehumanizing folks is dangerous. We can be mad as hell (I am). But it’s a dead end road when the real problem for most is likely lack of education. Fav TT that shined a light on this: www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2jHGC2J/

Thank you! As a Washingtonian who voted for you and is terrified and so angry about how far back Trump is dragging the country, you bring me some peace. Thank you.

@nytimes.com is really struggling with using the right language to underscore Trumps danger, his lies and now NOT normal this is. I can’t even look at the app for more than a few seconds these days. Thank you to @rappler.bsky.social for allowing me to stay informed about Trump without panicking.

I feel so betrayed by the news orgs I used to love (even @nytimes.com). I open and immediately close the app because the headlines feel dishonest. It’s no opinion to say this isn’t normal. It’s not opinion to call it an oligarchy. There is so much subtle normalization of Trump it makes me sick.

I’m sensitive to fear, I’m afraid all the time. It’s human and I don’t think we should judge it, But until these “brave men and women” who wield their mouths like poison are able to have a simple conversation about what their feeling, it feels like we’re stuck in this hamster wheel of doom.
