Fast approaching 200 followers on this site. Which reminds us that this time last year we were surprised and delighted to discover Bron Hebog was included in @hornbymagazine.keypublishing.com list of the 200 best models!

Preparing to attend my first model railway club AGM for must be 30 year+ - the last was presided over by the late, great Don Boreham it was so long ago…

Enjoyed admiring some remarkable scenic modelling at opposite ends of the scale spectrum at Model Rail Scotland today, including ‘The Summit’ (O) and ‘York’ (N).

Sometimes you have to build up the confidence before tackling a tricky task or new technique- which is why it’s been a year between me scratch building these original FR ‘Barns’ and Himself having a go at creating a ‘varnished teak’ (plywood) paint effect. Should be just the job for Minffordd!

Around 22 hours after the last train pulled into the fiddle yard at the end of the show in Doncaster, Dduallt arrived safely back at base. Thanks to everyone who came to the exhibition and showed their appreciation of the layout in conversation or through social media.

Photo finish at Doncaster Racecourse. A few hardy souls stayed around to the end of the show to witness the last (ever?) gravity train run on Dduallt. A great weekend 20 years after our first visit, thanks to the British Railway Modelling team for their generous hospitality.

Headline news! We’ve made the Yorkshire Post! www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/people/...

Little trains all tucked up for the night 🛌 - another chance to catch Dduallt in Doncaster again tomorrow.

Without a doubt the world’s ultimate train ride @festrail.bsky.social

First out on the gallops for day 1 at Doncaster Racecourse is our newly sound fitted Simplex ‘Mary Ann’. It’s 20 years since Dduallt’s previous appearance at this show.

And they’re under starters orders for the 2025 at Doncaster Racecourse (We can keep these 🐎 puns up all weekend you know!)

Antique narrow gauge layout still finding a new audience after all these years! Come see Dduallt in Doncaster this weekend - it may be your last chance…

Equipment being delivered for the Ffestiniog Pumped Storage Power Station - the reason for the Deviation spiral at Dduallt, which we are showing in model form in Doncaster this weekend.

Perhaps this is 009 ASMR? Once where there was a balcony above ‘Bron Hebog’ at a show I filmed a bird’s eye view of a train completing an end-to-end run. It takes a while…. youtu.be/9F1jXW8Hbik?...

Next weekend we’ll be exhibiting our original 009 layout ‘Dduallt’ in Doncaster and later this year we’re looking forward to debuting our latest multi-gauge project ‘Minffordd’. Here’s some construction testing video as a teaser. 🔊

Looking very at home in Ayrshire - as it should - my lad was very chuffed to receive an @accurascale.com Barclay tank for his 12th birthday from his grandparents. Lucky boy!

We had many new followers over the weekend - welcome! - in case some of you are unfamiliar with what Bron Hebog is here’s a short video introduction. THIS is Bron Hebog.

Having reviewed the motive power available on shed the Region board did not detain themselves long deciding what to allocate for their Sunday afternoon inspection special. @rapidotrains.co.uk

High demand for replacement roofing slates after Storm Eowyn.

Welcome to everyone who’s found us on here today. 150 followers in roughly two weeks. That’s alright for an account which only posts pictures of little Welsh trains, yeah?

And just like that we’ve reached the final Garratt number 143. A bit of a green shade fail on this one, came out a bit too much like 138 in its short-lived sponsored identity named ‘Mileniwm’. Oh well, never mind, it adds a welcome splash of colour.

Happy Wednesday to all 140 followers, which is the same number as that of our header image loco, the most recent NG/G16 to join the fleet in model form and in real life.

Just noticed with great excitement - I’m easily entertained - that our follower count now matches @festrail.bsky.social Garratt fleet numbers! Which is all the excuse I need to post a picture of this Backwoods beauty.

Ever find yourself pondering alternative histories through your modelling? Like what if the Ffestiniog Pumped Storage scheme never went ahead and the FR never had to build the Deviation spiral at Dduallt? What would have happened? So many possible scenarios I could imagine.

Right, how about we get back to taking about model trains again? 123 is the last survivor of the archetypal FR Observation Car starting out as 101. It’s got a new lease of life offering 1st class views at standard class prices at the ‘top’ end of trains + full accessibility. What’s not to like!

Blue (engine) Monday. What’s not to like!

Go on @rapidotrains.co.uk you know you want to!

A surge in the follower tally means we’ve surged through the numbers for corresponding FR carriages I was going to post about. The unique 122 may prove to be the FR’s last unashamedly modern carriage, conceived by the late great Steve Coulson. He shared his design plans with me to make this model.

Our follower count here has reached the running number of the late-lamented FR ‘disco car’. I made this model for a friend who fitted it with a speaker and flashing lights 🕺🪩🔊.

3 weeks until Dduallt goes to Doncaster for the Festival of British Railway Modelling. Can’t remember when it was last on show in England but must be more than 10 years.

Another FR carriage image to match our embryonic follower count. Long before anyone dreamed you’d be able get something like this ready-to-run I scratch built this en suite tin carr 120 in styrene. As a child of the 70s to me these epitomise ‘modern image’ Welsh narrow gauge.

Blue Sky followers so far as FR carriages.
