This astonishing reality-stars galaxies planets. Inorganic chemistry, then organic chemistry with its enantiomers. It’s all too much. So I guess just dig it. It works.

After sundown here in Santa Fe the crescent Moon was dancing with a crescent Venus.

@techdaily.bsky.social Why has nobody heard widely of either 1. ADC Electrical power distribution and use? or 2. SpinLaunch? Here’re 2 great technological history -level making inventions and nobody covering them? @

As God is my witness I thought turkeys could fly. Great moments in television history.

It was just so great.

Many people discover to their disappointment that epoxy does not fix plastic glass frames (cheaters). I realized when we were kids we glued plastic models together all the time. So I bought a $3.35 tube of this stuff at a local hobby shop and it fixes my glass frames when they break.

This is the best way I’ve found in 10 years of using this kiva fireplace. Steady constant heat and if you have to be in another room or do something outside you can just pull the pieces apart at the far end point and they will light up again as soon as you come back in and put them back together.

There but for the dice of chance went I. -bsphd

I don’t often get that what we are doing or saying just now is all that matters.

Do we know much about how the universe works? We have a lot of ‘splainin’ to do. ~Lucy

Fairytales lie. No “happily ever after”. Joy only in the fireworks. The moment’s fireworks. -drbsPhD

Did anybody ever wonder what was inside the Maltese falcon? It was heavy. and Sam Spade ended up with it

The Jews are one of the most racist cultures on Earth. They believe they are the chosen ones and the rest of us are not. But, and it’s a big but, they are also the most brilliant subculture on our planet. What is to be deduced from that? Beats me.

Starting to spend more time over on what I still call Twitter muting the same kind of stupid Republican tripe. 20 or 30 a day maybe?

@lauriehosken.bsky.socia The big sleep Do you think Humphrey Bogart was handsome? I think he was closer to ugly. It’s what he was, not what he looked like. Lauren Bacall is both maximum sexy & powerful intelligent incisive female.

Interesting converse tweeting over at Twitter, about the rarity of mountain lion attacks in Canada and in the states. I think shark attacks are even rarer & are usually accidental.

It turns out that the primary story in the Old Testament (maybe secondary only after the creation story) is Moses and the exodus. Didn’t happen. No artifacts have ever been found in the Sinai Peninsula. Nor was Jericho conquered by the Hebrews. The Hebrews just settled near the ruins of Jericho.

Interestingly at least to me, the Jews did not care much about the possibility of hell or heaven. The present was apparently problematical enough.

So even as history, many times the Bible is not very helpful. The Old Testament is amazing to read because it’s unexpurgated. The social realities it paints are probably true. The history is frequently not.

Just watched an episode of unearthed on the science channel (2020; S7E7) about Jericho which the Bible says was “fit“ by Joshua - and the walls came tumbling down. Nope. The Hebrews did not come in a wave across the Sinai and cause havoc. They settled near a destroyed city later called Jericho.

Seems like a number of people want this blue bird thing to be only for Democrats. That’s pretty boring.

Crazy violence: one face of religion.

I forget where it is, but there’s a place you can scratch a dog and it will make his hind leg involuntarily start oscillating. Where is that?

I don’t need to know now how I will feel tomorrow. I need to be in this moment.

Let’s not try to solve all the problems of the future. Let’s explore the possibilities of the present. -me

Finally found a basic solitaire game that doesn’t help you win. This one actually has a slider bar of how much help from a lot to none the game gives you. I just like to know that I’m playing a standard game not that I’m being handed to win, and I like Solitaire.

Anybody here of ADC? Alternating direct current.

SpinLaunch Vertically spin the upper stage of a rocket up to 10,000 Gs at the end of a centrifugal arm in an enormous vacuum chamber. Release it up a vertical opening at 1000 miles an hour. Above most of the atmosphere 3Rd stage-size rockets push it into orbit.

The Ken Burns four hour documentary on Leonardo da Vinci is splendid. I thought I knew a lot about Leonardo. But I did not know his pioneer status in painting. He invented landscape, aerial view, 3/4 portraits. If you get a chance to see this two part biography, don’t miss it.
