Nothing like yelling about how much a place *isn't* cool to make it cooler in the eyes of its users and would-be users.

Well I think this is official confirmation that Bluesky has the Juice

And a not-for-profit named Dot

Clair Obscur has revealed I am an absolute sicko who burns four hours on a side boss not for the loot but the sheer *principle* of it.

the trump movement has inculcated a genuinely rotten contempt for life in our collective political life and the real challenge will be extirpating it in favor of life-affirming solidarity youtu.be/Em6hb2Mg0XA?...

Turning 35 today. Best birthday gift so far—hosting a joint birthday party with @carlivelocci.com in our new house. 🥰🥰🥰

CCGs, a genre where people famously *don’t* care about the quality of the card art.

and of course, aside from the other issues, this would cost a tremendous amount of money that the university would funnel to a corporation rather than investing in faculty to actually, you know, teach.

Yoooo @nathangrayson.bsky.social

Not touching the solo dev discourse outside of snarky comments during the show but do want to ask when did we decide '30 devs' was a *small* team??? Napkin math, 30 dev core team for 3 years => $10-15M budget depending on location, excluding any O/S spend or marketing

It also *conveniently* avoids looking at the real problem with video games at the moment. There is *so* much bureaucracy and middle-management based BS that hampers creativity and greatly lengthens development times. That isn't going to go away with less devs.

“Come on guuuysssss please stop yelling at me.”

It’s incredibly noticeable how often ‘and an army of outsourcers outside America and Western Europe’ is left out of these team sizes. That’s the part I find real uncomfortable.

This year's Summer Games Fest presentation was really concerned with how few people made a lot of those games, huh? It feels kinda fucked up. Not just because they're often misrepresntating the real size of these teams, but because I think it's playing directly into a new(ish) flavour of dev hate.

This is that “deprofessionalization” shit front and center. Devaluing developer labor so everyone around the studio can profit in some way. Rage-bait content creators, Outsourcers, localization companies, toolmakers, publishers, platforms, investors—they all have a lot to gain!

Also the cherry on top of this shit sundae is the fact that all this was to promote Splitgate 2 adding a battle royale mode, which itself is one of the most tired-ass shooter conventions in recent years

Remembering when I wrote an angry blog about having teabag counter and their PR rep sent me an angry email chewing me out over it.

I got a quick look at this game at DICE—Tanya's cooking up something amazing here!

I’m enjoying this as much as anyone, but seems very likely they do some big show of squashing the beef within, like, a week.

i get why this worries people, but remember that you can stop all hacking attempts dead in their tracks by changing all your passwords from "password" to "password2" or "passwordpassword"

We're back! Everyone agrees that "ultra-processed food" is bad for you but no one can define what it actually is. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/u...

I just entered act 3 of Clair Obscur

This rules for a lot of reasons, but especially because it dispels the myths that A.) old games were never political and B.) games like this are just stories, they aren't "about" anything. Should serve as a reminder to anyone writing about games why we should be close reading 'em.

Hang on a moment there was that Young Bond YA series that ran for longer than I expected! Given that Bond started as a book series it seems this guy deserves a shot.
