“To liberate 350 million people, you have to imprison some.” Salvadoran President Bukele “You are helping us out, and we appreciate it,” Trump said in an Oval Office meeting with Bukele.

“In my case I like to take a nice shower, to take care of my beautiful hair,” Trump told reporters while signing the order in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

“We are ending Joe Biden’s war on beautiful clean coal once and for all.” Trump said in remarks at the White House, where he was joined by coal workers in hard hats. If there’s one word I’d use to describe coal, it’s “clean.”

Where legal ethics collide with pragmatic and market considerations, are you a lawyer or are you a lawyer? (I know my answer)

I’ll accept a work requirement for Medicaid the moment Congress agrees to a 5-day workweek. Put your money where your mouths are.

RFK Jr came to Samoa and preached that measles vaccines were bad for children. 83 people died. “On Sunday, however, he said in a lengthy statement posted on X that it was ‘the most effective way to prevent the spread of measles.’” Per the AP, as a new outbreak spreads in Texas. Fascinating.

Anybody feel like getting disbarred in 3-5 years?

JD Vance is a Harvard trained attorney without a moral compass and access to the levers of government. KEEP YOUR EYES ON HIM.

DC Bar. It is time to pull some licenses.

So the two biggest one day market losses in recent years have both been under Trump. Just checking.

How quickly the ivory towers of the legal profession crumbled and fought to kiss the ring at very prospect of a % decrease in revenue. The grand ethics of our profession prove little more than a suggestion when so easily abandoned. #skadden

The US Constitution is designed to be operated by people who believe in it, not people trying to find ways around it.

Find out when the next elections are in your area. Find out now. Make a schedule and a plan.

The paradox of democracy is that politics is a contest over the structure of institutions, but the institutions also structure the contest.

I really wish we had taken this Florida election more seriously. No matter the outcome. We are not acting like our lives are in the balance.

Explaining legalese and the sources of legal definitions is one of the most confusing things I’ve tried to approach in my attempt to get civics and law to a broader audience.

You’ve scheduled a march on Washington four days AFTER your last chance to make an actual change to these policies in the Florida special election. Where was the day of action in Florida to flip the house and make an actual difference? Or is that not the point?

The House of Representatives can still stop this train wreck. TALK ABOUT FLORIDA

Anybody else remember this general “hot” feeling in your brain from the first Trump administration.

We can stop this out of control attack on the constitution in 3 days. Please start talking about the elections in Florida. Please please please. Get them on every screen in the country.

Florida is replacing the workers it’s deporting with American Children. Is America great yet?

Why is anyone talking about anything other than taking back the house on Tuesday?

There's been a question for years whether the powers enumerated in the articles of the constitution limit the federal government just by listing the only things it can do, or whether the 10th amendment limits it by explicitly restricting the fed to those powers. Court changes its mind once a century

Am I wrong or does reducing strong progressive movements to acronyms (BLM, DEI) allow them to become easily vilified and stripped of their meaning. Maybe we stop using DEI, take away the reductive power of the acronym and always use the words independently?

Art I. Sec 8, Congress has power to "make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper" to execute its enumerated powers. It allows flexibility in lawmaking and was upheld in McCulloch v. Maryland to justify creating a national bank not explicitly listed in the Constitution.

The Atlantic may be showing a rare bit of vertebrae in a fourth estate that is otherwise crumbling. Vote with your dollars.

"The more ignorant we become the less value we set on science, and the less inclination we shall have to seek it." Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 27 May 1795

In an irony to end all ironies, could the left’s abandonment of Tesla lead the right to suddenly embrace electric vehicles in order to save their dear leader? I mean. A win is a win I guess?

When an obscure legal theory (generally misapplied) suddenly becomes a MAGA talking point, it can usually be traced back to a slimey lawyer who knows better, using their position as an expert to intentionally swindle an unsuspecting public.

"Common Sense" just seems like a euphemism for "Lack of Critical Thinking." Does that seem like a ridiculous hill for me to die on?

A sudden rash of commenters on my tiktok are explaining to me that DT didn't need to follow the court's order because the case was not justiciable. I'm sure they all knew that word before last week and no one just used it on Newsmax.

"I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowlege among the people. no other sure foundation can be devised for the preservation of freedom, and happiness." (Thomas Jefferson to George Wythe, August 13, 1786)
