@remapradio.bsky.social I altered the file for use during a family members funeral: prototypical 1A speech from which I received no benefit and had no effect on the potential market. I know my rights, I know IP enforcement bots can be on Bluesky, & I don’t want to pay a lawyer. 😣

@Bruce @remapradio.bsky.social If it can work for a niche industry like mine (Nemetscheck makes it’s real money selling to architectural and engineering firms), I think it can probably work for the gaming industry. I bought a drm-free song off iTunes the other day and exercised my fair use rights.

@remapradio.bsky.social The keycard model has worked for professional lighting software: buy a license code and your Vectorworks CAD license is permanently attached to that. Nemetschek keeps old binaries freely available because current customers have old hardware. Pure cold-hearted business logic.
