I read "The City in Glass" by Nghi Vo. This is a weird but beautiful book. It's an exploration of love and grief, and it is more like a character study and a love letter to a city than it is a straightforward plot.

Yes, it is entirely correct to point out that ICE officers do not have any legal authority to break into somebody’s home unless they get a judicial warrant; which they generally cannot do, because judges only issue warrants for probable cause of crimes, not immigration law violations.

Update: The White House is already backing down on this. Keep calling your reps. Keep pressuring them. Along with your reps, the white house phone number is (202) 456-1111. Use 5calls.org to get all your reps in one place along with a guide. www.nysun.com/article/whit...

I read "Even Though I Knew the End" by C.L. Polk. This was a random bookstore find, a 133 page novella that I took one look at and said "oh that's going to hurt my feelings". Well, I was right. It hurt my feels in the best/worst way.

This is interesting. Continuing to think about the Temple of the White Rat, Bishop Beartongue (who is sort of my template for a Practical Good Person who can see the big picture) is not at all a centrist, but she might be considered an incrementalist.

Am I downloading MapQuest and using it as my main maps app? This timeline is weird. But this particular weirdness feels both comfortable and funny, so let's go!

Today is the Day of Remembrance. Eighty-three years ago today, FDR signed Executive Order 9066. It gave military authorities the power to create “military exclusion zones” from which any class of citizens could be removed.

I read "Lucy Undying" by Kiersten White. Audiobook narrated by an ensemble cast (mostly in dual style, but a two chapters are done in duet instead). The story of Lucy from Bram Stoker's Dracula - an unsubtle but powerful look at her story both during events of the book and after her presumed death.

Just finished "But Not Too Bold" by Hache Pueyo, a fantasy horror novella with a surprisingly sweet heart. Content warning for tarantulas. They're very gentle and lovely, but they are a near-constant presence. I finished the book and then clutched it to my chest, hugging it tight. SO. GOOD.

The Trump administration has begun firing several hundred Federal Aviation Administration employees, upending staff on a busy air travel weekend and just weeks after a January fatal mid-air collision at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Remember how they said they were going after criminals? That was funny.

I read "Annie Bot" by Sierra Greer, narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya. An excellent but high anxiety read! It **grips** the themes of transhumanism and feminism. I cared about the protagonist SO DAMN MUCH. I couldn't read fast enough near the end. Content warnings in the next comment...

Just saw a farmer say, "you don't have to admit you were wrong, you have to admit you were lied to, " and idk that seems like a good framing to call people in

So AI is going to create threat profiles for people who criticize ICE—and then cross reference that with the personal identity data the Musk Rats were allowed to steal—to monitor us IRL (using facial recognition to track us) based on what we say online. I wish I was making *any* part of that up. 😬

This is why logistically minded people are important, too! <3 (It's me. I don't have artistic vision but I will handle the fuck out of the other stuff.)

Trump claimed that DOGE has uncovered billions in “fraud, waste, and abuse.” However, no evidence has been provided, and all public fraud claims from both Elon Musk and Trump have been debunked as false.

I read *The Night Guest* by Hildur Knútsdóttir, translated and narrated by Mary Robinette Kowal. A short horror novella set in modern day Reykjavik. It's very well written and the translator did an amazing job. I was enthralled and filled with vague dread almost the entire time.

ICYMI- It’s Cover Reveal day for my next horror novel THE SILENCED!! THE SILENCED imagines what would happen if the girls who died in their Troubled Teen program haunt their abandoned “school” to get revenge. Please help by sharing the cover!

Apathy is boring & overrated. Giving a shit about others, showing up for your community & banding together to keep each other safe? Très chic. Very cool. Let me teach you bystander intervention - for free! Feb 17 noon - 1pm EST Cameras/mics muted Open to anyone anywhere aged 12+ Register!

Operation ICE Ride-Along isn’t going as planned. 🔥 Fox News tagged along with ICE, hoping for an exclusive look at “dangerous criminals.” Instead, they got a whole lot of nothing. No threats, no big arrests—just a community that wasn’t having it. The narrative is falling apart.

Hey man sorry to hear about all your political turmoil. Would it help if I scrolled around on the computer all day and drove myself insane?

Just finished "The Beginner's Guide", a 90 minute game that poses the question "what if a video game was an existential crisis?" and hurts your feelings as it answers itself.
