This is a bigger scandal than people realize. It really makes it look as though this entire meeting was a setup by Trump that was planned in advance. If you watch the video it is clear that they are deliberately and almost derangedly blindsiding Zelenskyy. Now we know who the audience was. Putin.

The Russians succeeded.

Never seen anything like this before. This video is the entire press conference, not just the "heated exchange." Can we swap presidents? Slava Ukraini www.youtube.com/live/IxkBYZH...

"You hurt more people than I've ever seen in my political life, and you never speak about it." -Sen. Tony Bisignano, Iowa State Senator, noting that while ripping rights away from transgender Iowans the Republicans were virtually silent the whole time.

Traded in my #Tesla and filled out their survey on why I sold. Every day I get new confirmation. So long, asshole. “Tesla manager who spoke up against Elon Musk’s Nazi joke confirms he was fired” fortune.com/2025/02/28/t...

I think a defining characteristic of dictators and would-be dictators is that they truly believe their own bullshit.

I don’t post photos much because of my conviction that phones are not the right place to absorb images and I suspect that Ai bots scrape these sites. But…I like to play, too :) Also testing the @flashes.blue app.

At long last, I’m thrilled to announce that my new book, WITHOUT CONSENT: A Landmark Case and the Decades-Long Struggle To Make Spousal Rape a Crime, will be published on November 11, 2025 and is available for pre-order wherever books are sold! www.sarahweinman.com/book/without...

I bought 30 pounds of green #coffee beans yesterday. Roasting your own is the best way to not pay too much (and it's awesome anyway), but it's definitely getting more expensive.

Wow, Trello has really lasted a long time!

Bluesky is such a fantastic app. You can be very passive, or you can control your experience so it doesn't get out of hand over time. I use lists to follow public figures and orgs that I don't want in my follow feed so I can interact with humans. + Three tools I've used to improve my experience:

Ralph Gibson in good form. Very often his talks cover familiar ground (he knew all the great #photography people of the 20c), but here he also gets into his upcoming work and his thinking.

When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies. Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE. Funny how that works, huh?

I recently started using Qobuz because of a post by @vijayiyer.bsky.social about how they pay artists more. I have to say it's a really good app, particularly for discovery and easy of use - better than Spotify and Apple for sure. Streaming ain't going away, so it's important to pay the artists!

Dems need new leadership

These are the newest (of 248) films on my "For the Love of #photography" list on @letterboxd.social Peter Hujar's Day, The Stringer, I am Martin Parr, Ernest Cole: Lost and Found, Two Strangers Trying not to Kill Each other, A Photographic Memory, Eddy's War, and others. 📽️ boxd.it/s5PK8

Andy Summers of The Police on his love of photography (and #Leica)

folks! the best time to leave substack was a year or two ago, but the second best time is today.

So glad to see this little novel in print still. Perfectly illustrates ideology takes hold of people (my description doesn’t do it justice).

Exciting!

Another NY restaurant we have history with, only this time the news is not good. Very sad. Bryant Park Grill is where my wife and I had our rehearsal dinner before our wedding, and, coincidentally, where I took my then fiancée to meet my ex-girlfriend (not sure what I was thinking there).

I might add to my last post (the og author limited its sharing) that Charles Mingus put Niemöller's poem to great effect in his piece "Don't Let it Happen Here" and recorded by the Mingus Big Band on the album "Blues & Roots"

Time to post this again

I suppose it's to be expected from this brand, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how friendly and professional the folks at #leica North America headquarters were today. Refreshingly so, these days.

Pretty big deal. @bookshop-org.bsky.social is selling ebooks now. You can now support indies while purchasing digital books. bookshop.org/ebooks
