At the Whisky a Go Go and some fella in one of the openers just plugged right into his guitar without running the cable through his strap first. It was just hanging there, and the rest all tangled in a heap by his feet. Terrifying.

Ferrying the AOPA Sweepstakes 1958 Cessna 182 from Frederick, MD to Buckeye, AZ. First leg starts at oof o’clock in the morning. Creep on our progress: https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N4000D

@astrokatie.com Lovely to see you pop up in our article publish queue this afternoon!

Pete Muntean says what we are all thinking. Thank you for your dedication to solid, thoughtful, intelligent #aviation reporting Pete!

Will soon be flying the (gorgeous) AOPA Sweeps 1958 Cessna 182 Skylane from Frederick, Maryland to Arizona for the Buckeye Air Fair. We spent our lunch break trying it out for size. It’s definitely going to be a bit of a squeeze!

Guaranteed that by now the G20 has branched off a separate group chat without him in it

we never should’ve given power to the nerds. the jocks shouldn’t have it either. we must usher in the age of the goths

Paxlovid prescription for my daughter (w/insurance): $400 at CVS. Checked GoodRx for a coupon, cheapest option was $925. The CVS coupon was $1,497. Noticed a tiny link for “manufacturer coupon”. Had to sign up for some free account bullshit - brought the cost down to $0. Make it make sense.

@maureenjohnsonbooks.com Celsius for cold temps and Fahrenheit for warm, yes! I thought it was just my transatlantic brain that was broken. I hope you’re starting to feel better.

Not been close to enough of this in recent weeks, so spent three hours working on “Eruption” this evening, for mental health reasons.

Went on an adventure with the 14yo yesterday and realized, as we got back to the car, that both of our phones were dead and we didn’t have a charging cable. We drove home listening to FM radio and using road signs to navigate, like pioneers aboard a covered wagon.

Top-tier work morning.

Another trip up the Hudson this morning - this time in a Cessna 182.

A quick, pre-Chrimmers jaunt up the Hudson River, in work’s RV-12. Extremely pilot. youtube.com/shorts/6MXQi...

Pretty spectacular mornin’ tbh.

Flying from Maryland up to NYC tomorrow morning, in a tiny two-seat RV-12. Wondering if we should paint “NOT ALIENS” on the underside before we fly over New Joisey.

A successful frolic into the overocean, from a very chilly Frederick (KFDK) out to Carroll County (KDMW) for untowered bump n’ jumps, with tolerable crosswotsits (as foretold by a perky breezeweiner at HQ). Then back home and a safe return to Old Father Tarmac (Wheels Be Upon Him). Hashtag pilot.

Five years after inheriting it, I’m still trying to figure out what on earth to do with my dad’s vintage hi-fi equipment, including this lovely Thorens turntable, from the early-to-mid sixties. Any audiophiles in the house?

Baby’s first 12-string. (no, it’s not plugged into the amp) (although I guess it COULD be 🤔)
