@bsky.app I just updated my handle to a custom domain, and it said that my bsky.social handle will still remain valid, but going to burdiyan.bsky.social shows an error. I inspected the PLC ops of my DID, and I see that `alsoKnownAs` field has a single handle, with my custom domain.

Is there anything I could read to learn more about the motivation of using the fanout of 4 in @bsky.app MST implementation? 4 seems small, and I’d like to know if there’s any specific reason for choosing this number. CC: @pfrazee.com @why.bsky.team @martin.kleppmann.com

Hey @atproto.com! I wonder if there’s a particular reason why Labels are standalone signed data objects and are not Records in a Repository as most other things are in the protocol? atproto.com/specs/label

Spent a few hours digging into passkeys and webauthn today, and the entire time was asking the same question. Why so complicated? Just give me the goddamn key, and don’t restrict it to websites with DNS domains. I just want to sign stuff and keep the key on my phone protected and backed up securely.

@bsky.app is there a way to access the private key behind my plc did? Or maybe there is a way to rotate the key to one that I can control? I’m trying to dig into the internals but I can’t seem to find the answer. /cc @pfrazee.com
