I just re-watched that scene. Probably should've introduced myself a little more gently π€£π

I wouldn't feed slugs to hens, myself. Waste of compost makers (the slugs), & a chance of secondary poisoning to the hens if the slugs have ingested, or are covered slug pellets. Also, a lot of garden slugs produce a foul tasting mucus if threatened, & hens can't vomit.

Good hen tip π My first rescue hens were 2 Rhode Island bantams. Bloody buggers for flying off!

Fly, baby, fly! π
One of my granfers worked on the British Concorde engines in Filton, back in the 50s & 60s. He would be very proud π

Snail eggs, I think.
The first two pics are of the same clutch of slug eggs, about a week apart. There's a neonate on the right of the second pic. The last pic is of a couple of dislodged snail eggs (I put them back).

AstraZeneca reduced its R&D commitment - Β£150m to Β£90m, &, therefore the UK Govt's offer was reduced as per the subsidy scheme's regulations. AZ are just too used to dealing with the Tories, who didn't give a toss about the cost to the taxpayer as long as they got their bung.

Hello! I'm down here in your old posts, dying of embarrassment because I suddenly remembered, I called you Flint crow's dad. I'm so sorry! π«£

Thanks for that. I'm told it hadn't been worked for about 10yrs. The bindweed root was all over the plot, right down to the clay. I tried cardboard but no luck. I thought I'd give tagetes a go to slow it down & wondered if you had any growing tips. I'm incorporating my brambles into a native hedgeπ

Thanks for that. Can I ask, have you ever grown Tagetes minuta? The bindweed root on my new plot is something to behold (with a bucket of gin & a handful of Valium).

Hunch was horribly cross billed when I found her. I have no idea how she managed to eat. She was so trusting, she just stood, & let me go at it with everything I could think of, including a Dremel. Of course, then she spent the rest of her life eating me out of house & home ππ Loved that bird.

My brain once mentioned it would like to drink from a just boiled kettle. It was the only time I ever threatened it with a lobotomy.

Poor lovely, but she's doing well by the looks of it! Animals are amazing in how they adapt, aren't they? Hunch was blind in one eye, had deformed wings, & was a little bit brain injured. But, she was the cleverest hen I've ever known...& that's a lot of hens! π

Stare like a crow - I like that very much. Especially now I have a slight squint, I can stare at two people at once! πβΊοΈ
