Of all the ways I thought I might be a published author one day, this would have been the furthest from my 9 year old self's mind, but here we are. progressally6yogf8hc32ioroi.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/list/Journal...

Day 32 of #the100dayproject I wanted to paint this when I took the photo in Istanbul last fall but somehow didn't. This ought to be an exercise in perspective - I mean, it is, but here we see that I am not super good at it yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been known to do this.

Day 31 of #the100dayproject: Thing 2's cat Carrot bites his nails and looks very angry about it.

When I was using Duolingo to learn a little Turkish last year, the lessons followed a similar path to languages I learned in school - polite phrases, food, colors, animals, names of places. This year I am learning a little Arabic and I am learning country names and how to tell people they are weird.

#the100dayproject day 30 Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master!

Day 29 of #the100dayproject Wassup?

#the100dayproject day 28, in which I paint something that does not fit in my journal. Yes, of course they glow under black light and have glitter, have you *met* me? (I guess on Bluesky the answer to that is likely no, but you can take it as read)

Obligatory "first sign of spring" photo

Art date for #the100dayproject has @phrebh.bsky.social looking very serious but we're having fun, really

Day 27 of #the100dayproject I can't believe I am this far in and haven't painted a hippo yet, so here's Moo Deng

Day 26 of #the100dayproject is brought to you by my crabby hip in dance class tonight.

The fiber animals from my #100dayproject all together make me want to knit something color-block-y.

Day 25 of #the100dayproject brings me to my last fiber animal - alpaca- and 1/4 of the way through! I need to make a little collage of all these. So, what's my next theme? Any votes?

A blessing of beans on your feed 🐈🐾

#the100dayproject day 24 fiber animal of the day: the Angora goat, which is where mohair comes from. As opposed to Angora fiber, which comes from a rabbit. Don't ask me, I'm just the knitter. "It's NOT just a PHASE, mom!"

A reminder: no-one is ‘naturally good’ at art. Behind the scenes, we are taking classes, ‘ruining’ materials, making mistakes, and failing beautifully! #art #artist

Day 23 of #the100dayproject I have a couple fibers animals to go. Don't let the fancy socks fool you, this camel will still kick you if you disparage his fashion sense.

Day 22 of #the100dayproject, in which we play with shaving cream and leather.

Day 21 of #the100dayproject Art date with a friend means back to experimenting!

Day 20 of #the100dayproject A small detour from the art journal to sew and stamp these cute little linen cocktail napkins for a friend's birthday gift. It feels a little like cheating since it's the lino block from a few days back, but the hemming took up my watercolor time.

Day 19 of #the100dayproject Today's fiber animal is one of my personal favorites to knit with: yak. She has heard it's not a competition, but she just wants you to know that she has TWO hats and the bison only had one. Draw your own conclusions.

#the100dayproject day 18. Today's fiber animal: Angora bunny. She's sure she had socks on this morning, but can't spot them anywhere. Or her feet, either, for that matter.

Day 17 of #the100dayproject Continuing with the fiber animals this week, we have an American bison. He doesn't need the hat to stay warm, it's purely a fashion statement.

#the100dayproject day 16: a very fancy cashmere goat in his finest glittery coat

Day 15 of #the100dayproject. I know this doesn't take up a page in my art journal, but it's still painting, just with dye 💜 4 yard veil, 5mm silk habotai, two very different lighting situations. Obligatory business plug in case you need some custom silk dye: www.facebook.com/ColorTonic

#the100dayproject day 14 A very fat sheep in a scarf. I'm not sure about this one but that's kind of the point of this project, right? Try things, I'm not gonna knock everything outta the park. Watercolors, gel pen

Nick says it's time to stop crocheting.

#the100dayproject Day 13, with a llama. There may be a lot of fiber animals this week 🙂 watercolor and gel pen

Jesus Christ. This entire business should have been over 3 weeks after the release of Wakefield’s initial paper; when epidemiologists published a response that said “if any of that were true, we would’ve seen an autism spike after the introduction of the MMR vaccine, and there wasn’t any.”
