No Alex Sarr in the rookie of the year finalists (which I think is defensible)

My playoff picks:

Grizzlies win is good news for the Wizards, who will gets Memphis' first round pick.

Marvin Bagley III minutes with Memphis’ season on the line! Former Wizard potentially helping his old team get the Grizzlies pick.

Wizards GM Will Dawkins had his end-of-year press conference today. Some takeaways: - The rebuild is still in its early stages - His thoughts on hiring a shooting coach - His thoughts on Bilal’s season - An emphatic endorsement of Brian Keefe And more! www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...

Mailbag! As usual, please send me questions you have about the Wizards and I'll answer some of them. Thursday is also the end of year press conference with Will Dawkins. I'm putting together my list of Qs but I'm also curious — what questions do you have for the Wiz GM?

The Wizards 2024-25 season is over. What did it tell us about the Wizards future? What new questions will it raise? My season recap for @postsports.bsky.social. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...

Wizards exit interviews begin now with Coach Brian Keefe, follow along for updates!

With the game on the line, the Wizards turned to their youngest player. Not only did 19-year-old Bub Carrington take the final shot, he closed out his rookie year by taking control of a Washington team that closed its season with a thrilling win. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...

82/82 🫡 Just filed my last (and maybe favorite?) gamer of the season. Will have more coming this week but wanted to say thank you to everyone who read/interacted with my work this season. Not a rookie anymore!

Really nice sequence for Alex Sarr there: Contests the shot, forces miss inside. Grabs the rebound and attacks in fastbreak but in control. Finds Colby Jones cutting for a layup.

MIAMI —

Scenes before Game 82

In my latest for @postsports.bsky.social, I profiled Wizards guard AJ Johnson — the primary piece Washington received in the Kyle Kuzma deal. Explored Johnson's friendship with Rockets guard Jalen Green, his response to a difficult year in Australia and more: www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...

Saddiq Bey is out for tomorrow's game, meaning he will finish his first season in DC without playing a game.

Dove into the numbers and tried to figure out how good Alex Sarr's rim protection is. The answer: Solid... but needs to get better if he is the player he and the Wizards expect him to be. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...

Benny the Bull proposal is wild

The Wizards' pick from Memphis, which at one point seemed like a guarantee to convey (top 14 protection) is now in jeopardy. Memphis is 7th in the Western Conference after Thursday's loss. If it doesn't make the playoffs, it will keep its pick.

As usual, a nuanced and interesting take on the Wizards rebuild from the great @candacedbuckner.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...
