Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced another cut to the aid budget, the lowest level since 1999. More people will die, and many more will lose their livelihoods. This is scandalous. Contact your MP urgently and ask them to take action. 👉 action.cafod.org.uk/page/166896/...

We need a debt justice law. 💵 Because we're in a new global debt crisis, we're campaigning for one throughout #Jubilee2025. Because of the role played by the City of London, our government can have a huge influence in how debts are governed. Add your name. ⤵️ action.cafod.org.uk/page/164876/...

Many of the world's poorest countries are struggling with huge debt burdens, but there's something we can do. Private lenders are holding out for maximum profits but because the City of London governs 90% of these contracts, a Debt Justice Law has the potential to make a real difference.

Over 250,000 people took part in last year's #BigLentWalk. 🙌 It was amazing to see so many individuals, schools and parishes getting involved to show solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world. We can't wait to do it all again from 5 March. Will you join us? walk.cafod.org.uk

A Bill introduced by @bambosmp.bsky.social aims to support greater debt relief for low-income countries in crisis. With most debt of the world’s poorest nations held in the City of London, it's encouraging to see the government acknowledge the responsibility of debt relief. #Jubilee2025

Two years ago, Türkiye and Syria were hit by a devastating earthquake. In Syria, we worked with our local partners to provide immediate humanitarian assistance. Since then, they've continued to help rebuilding efforts and are still doing so following the change of government in December.

"If this government is to show international leadership on the debt crisis, it must legislate to hold predatory lenders operating through the City of London accountable." Well said 👏👏👏 @cafod.bsky.social www.ft.com/content/ed38...
