Periodic reminder: wear a well fitting n95 or better mask. The fascists are going to do nothing to protect people from the spread of this new variant or its damage. If you have stopped wearing mask it’s time to buy some new ones or find your stock so you can protect yourselves and your community

I keep getting asked if it’s legal to spend our campaign funds on food drives or our high school public service grants and the answer is YES. It is. Politicians and Democratic organizations need to use their coffers to help people NOW and fill in the gaps that Trump has created.

The comment period for this ends in 3 DAYS. Please leave a comment telling them EVERYONE should be able to get covid boosters. www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...

blumineck has been my archery inspiration for years because he’s a pole dancer who can do trick shots while being pro–sex worker and an intentional resource for illustrators/animators. That’s 4x based. A frequently inverted king.

This is extremely true, and I don't mean to minimize the important point being made. But also: kids deserve art. Kids deserve art that respects them, and they deserve art that isn't designed to appeal first and foremost to adult tastes. Children's literature is art and art is never expendable.

Happy Agender Pride Day 2025! lgbtqreads.com/2025/05/19/h...

Dutch friends, your Eurovision song is stuck in my head now, thank you for that. *dances around with the vacuum*

The problem (one of the problems) with using mutants as a 1:1 metaphor for marginalized groups is that they're simultaneously an oppression metaphor and a power fantasy.

ATHLETE IS AGENDER: True Stories of LGBTQ+ People in Sports is out today! This is a nonfiction anthology for readers 10+, and it's maybe the most important book I've sent into the world. I really mean that.

Also, as far as I know - and I might be wrong, because it's SUPER HARD AND ANNOYING to figure out bus routes - none of the available buses run evenings and weekends anymore. It's the train or nothing (so give the train engineers everything they want please).

If all NJ Transit services into NYC are suspended because of a strike, then the best option for commuters would clearly be to use one of the myriad commuter buses that run into the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The problem is, there is no map of what routes exist. www.nj.com/news/2025/05...

Please vote for this guy, NYC. This isn't even a "lesser of two evils" situation (which come on, not hard to do with Cuomo), he just straight up seems cool af, and socialism scares rich people for a GOOD reason. YOU are not a rich person, do not be scared of socialism!

This is a great interview and also contains (one) answer to the question I am beyond exhausted of answering: “When are you going to stop masking?”

2nd. Wear a mask. Protect disabled folx, immuno-compromised folx, and yourself. I for one do not want life-long crippling disabilities that effect my breathing, sleeping, and energy. Wear a mask at protests, at the store, on public transit, in crowds. Be a cool kid and mask up.

Pope Pesto the VII.

I, for one, am tired of [gestures broadly]. I have grown weary of [points in all directions simultaneously].

I was scrolling through Jen's excellent blog for cover comp purposes and found this and the fact that none of you told me about this means you're all fired. COSTUMES FOR TIME TRAVELERS?!?!?

living through 2025 and having to wake up, go to work, handle responsibilities etc feels like this

Oooh what a cover!!!

So, I'm going to confess: I've struggled a little bit with putting these pieces out there, because frankly - this was the worst night of my life. There are residual impacts not covered in this piece. But I saw my pet groomer today - yes, Jack gets trims for health (!)

to me, “you should create for yourself” and “you deserve to be acknowledged for what you make” are two statements that should coexist. chasing engagement will rot your soul, while being neglected will see your passion wither. loving what you make is a failsafe for when the engagement never comes.

my book was just born moments ago and now it is at the store

Today is the day! The debut adult rom-com from @mkengland.bsky.social is finally here! Watch for ALL FIRED UP, in bookstores everywhere. 🔥 www.harpercollins.com/products/all...

I am so ready.

They keep insisting there are good use cases for LLMs, but none of them rise to the level of "this is so important it justifies breaking copyright, destroying the environment, and paying people in the Global South $1 a day to data train the worst parts out."

Today is Lesbian Visibility Day! It's also Independent Bookstore Day. Coincidence? I think not. What better day to buy your favorite wlw books from your favorite indie bookstore! You can see this rec list (and many other wlw books!) on our Bookshop.org affiliate shop: bookshop.org/lists/wlw-st...

I wrote Pride Puppy and @whatwouldjuliedraw.bsky.social illustrated. We know exactly what it does (and does not!) include. So when Neil Gorsuch started talking about bondage and sex work, while claiming he'd read our book, we knew he was lying. Thanks to @jaywillis.net for this incredible piece.

We've been asked this a few times & now have an answer! If you're in publishing, but not author you can join Publishing Professionals Against Book Bans! The group is still in development but you can sign up here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

THIS. It was sickening. They essentially argued that any book representing LGBTQ+ people in a positive light (eg. getting married, having a nice day, being people who, you know, exist in the world) was coercing or indoctrinating children.
