It’s Spring here, my favourite season!

Bright sun and a gold print is the perfect combination. #linoprint

A workspace view with the beautiful gold armband jewellery postcard. This image must have been in my subconscious when making these prints. #linoprint

This collage Lughnasadh depicts the Gaelic festival of harvest. I imagined the hare running through the wheat. Watership Down made a big impression on me as a child and we lived surrounded by countryside at the time I saw it (long story for another time) where wild rabbits lived…. #collage

So that I’m not neglecting this place, here’s a close up of one of my recent collages. This has been scanned in and is now a giclee print. I really enjoyed working with strong colours in this one. #collage

🎺 The Print Prompt Monday - March Prompts 🎺 Interpret the prompts however you want! You might want to hold off posting anything until we make the weekly Monday 6pm post (just you’ll get more engagement then) Give this a share! #printpromptmonday #printing #artshare #art #illustration

I’ve got both these on my website now, giclee prints of the original collages. Titled ‘The Lyrids’ and ‘Lughnasadh’. They’re the same size as the originals too!

An update, still moving the blocks around on this linoprint….

More carving on these blocks ready for the second layer. They are becoming more sun like, and it suits the bright sun that we have here this morning. #linoprint

Figuring out the placement of the second block on these. A little more carving too before printing. #printmaking #linocut

Mini comet backgrounds today. Will see how these work with the next block on top.

A still from a video made of my new giclee prints. This is a collage as an original and it’s hard to tell the difference. I posted the video but the background noise was terrible….

I've just added some more accounts to this #LinocutPrintmaking starter pack: bsky.app/starter-pack...

More from the plan chest this morning, The Tower collage. Inspired by the tower card in tarot, the Tower of Babel, and esoteric tower things in general.

An older collage from the planchest this morning. Titled ‘Summerland’

It’s international pangolin day today - so here’s a Riso print I made of one 💘 #printmaking #risoprint #pangolin #art #print #illustration

Using up old blocks and offcuts for new comets. I do like seeing what I can do with bits that might otherwise be forgotten or discarded. In other news I can see lots more people are joining this space so I’ll try get round to following you back, and posting more regularly.

When I’ve a slow print in progress I try to have something smaller on the go as a break. Hello little comets!

I’m currently carving some new comet background shapes as a break from a complex print. I call it a break but I’m obviously procrastinating….

You can now find my prints and collages on Paper Bird Publishing cards. Beautiful quality card stock and you can even make them into bookmarks after use.

Now to start the process of printing this block. It’ll be slow as usual!

A new linoprint which is now available on my website. Stories of an ancient burial ground for Queen Boudica and my beautiful queen of a cat, Circe.

Starting this headache of a block today, will carve slowly as I figure things out….

Not posted in forever so here’s two new prints for the new year. I’ve been listening to Alan Garner books, walking on Hampstead Heath and looking at wintry shapes. Both are now on my website.

Used Japanese vinyl for the first time on this simple block as I’d wanted to try it. Not a fan at all. It was very hard to achieve fine detail and the tools became blunt very quickly….

A stone owl sketch, taken from a fountain I regularly walk to on Hampstead Heath. I’ve made him less forlorn in this. It’s going to be a little gift print.

Here’s my reduction linocut, imagining fireworks over Hampstead Heath in London.

Comets by candlelight this morning. You may not know that I’m a little obsessed by comets. These affordable linoprints are on my website now.

I don’t think you’ll all mind seeing Circe. Triumphant after her vet visit yesterday (she’s a familiar face there due to her medical issues) she’s doing okay for a stray cat found a year ago in a pretty bad way. Printmaking posts coming up!

Setting up for this print with all the stuff behind the scenes that are not seen-tearing paper, attaching registration tabs, and a jig cut. It takes ages. All in the hopes that the colours align when printing.

Running animal linocut prints. I’m doing print sales in the lead up to Xmas. Today I hope to start on my new idea but more sleep is also calling….

I’ve been working on a new print idea today. It’s helpful to see how the light and dark might work but some of it will probably end up in reverse. I still find it quite tricky to make decisions with a linoprint.

Time of Meteors linoprint in copper ink on black paper. Metallic ink prints come into their own in the darker months, they glow in ambient light. I’m doing some print sales on the weekends in the run up to Xmas, and this is this weekend’s offering.

I still done have a valid handle 🤔( was fine when I set up the account) but here’s a bit of a drawing I’m doing on a block today. An Irish heather wreath with added Irish wildflowers.
