Met my younger self for coffee. Told them that all that they’ve endured will help them develop a sense of empathy and humor that will help other people feel less alone in the world someday. They nodded and asked if we still had a sick burned CD collection and I said yea LOL it’s still in the car.

The early bird gets the worm. The night owl gets peace and quiet. The afternoon squirrel just vibes. The late-morning pigeon does brunch. The 4pm lizard gets tacos on Tuesdays. You do you.

Maybe you're not “bad at resting”... maybe society has conditioned everyone to believe that exhaustion is a personality trait. We're gonna unlearn it. Dare to nap. Sleep out of spite. Rest in rebellion.

I hope your day is a total vibe ✨

Rest is not “doing nothing.” Rest is literally how your body repairs itself. You wouldn’t yell at your phone for needing to be plugged in. You are allowed to recharge your existence.

Hey. Unclench your jaw. Drink some water. Scream a little. Do a silly little dance. Carry on.

Ok so…THAT was January. *Puts on suit of armor, goggles, and wields a rolling pin and DVD of Pride & Prejudice* Let’s do this February.

On harder days, be gentle with yourself. Be kind. Heavy emotions may require rest and comfort. You are a human being feeling all the things, and you were not meant to “power through” them. Take care. 💙

Stars can appear as beautiful and serene lights in a dark sky - but never forget - they are still exploding, burning infernos of color and energy. So, whether you’re feeling calm and collected or fiery and enraged, you are still a guiding light in the dark. 🌌

It’s okay to feel like crashing out. It’s okay to feel okay. It’s okay if today is hard. It’s okay if today is chill. It’s all okay.

Don’t forget that music has the power to support or shift your feelings. Pick a song and belt it out. I’m going with 4 Non Blondes “What’s Up” because it feels right for some reason.

Take a scroll break. Put down the phone. Go outside. Take a walk. Climb a mountain. Craft a wizards staff. Summon a dragon. Ride away from society. #selfcare

Don’t forget to unplug when you need to. Turn off the TV, throw the phone into the sea, and just exist as the human being on a flying rock in space that you are (that we ALL are).
