How many more disgusting acts like this have to happen until the lid blows off & they have actual death on their hands? To treat mothers, sisters, daughters, sons, children & families with this level of inhumanity is beyond comprehension. They’re non-violent families being ripped apart #Resistance

Blue states governors and Democratic mayors and councils need to mobilize their own National Guard units and police departments to protect residents from armed, masked federal agents. If they don't trust their Guard or law enforcement leaders to do that, then they need to remove them.

A Southern elephant seal makes a surprise visit to the residential neighborhood of Gordon's Bay in Cape Town, South Africa, and triggers an almost nine-hour rescue effort to return him to the coast.

It is fascinating how whenever anything has a leftist bent to it, be it a political party or website or television or radio station, they are always told that they must invite and applaud everyone else to find prosperity, while rightwing versions of those things grow by explicitly doing the opposite

As a Floridian, the most doomerizing thing for me is just how much cognitive dissonance people have around climate change. Like people who've lived here their whole lives would rather believe hurricanes are made by a government machine, because then it can be switched off.

"[Y]ou can't kill 15,000 kids, and you can't be about to let 14,000 kids starve ... What[] is keeping you from standing up for these kids, who don't have food and medical care and who have had amputations without anesthesia, what[] is keeping you from saying it, it's not greater than your humanity."

When I think of the brutality of the junta & its militias, I think a lot about the horrific murder of Phoe Tay and Thar Htaung. After they were killed, supporters of the revolution shared images (presumably AI generated) to remember them & be used instead of the horrific videos of their death.

Excellent information in this 🧵on hurricanes and preparing for other disasters Thank you @emilylhauser.bsky.social

NEW — Kelvin Membreño will be deported to El Salvador by ICE tomorrow. He’s the birth father of three US citizen daughters and has become an important part of their lives. Here their adoptive mother makes a last ditch plea to let him stay in the same country as the girls. A gutting guest essay:

"This is like Gestapo-type of stuff, and it just blows my mind that there's a certain, certain ugly segment of the American pop population that's enjoying watching these families getting ripped out of their homes and, and you somehow think that America's gonna be better if this is done." - Bill Burr

"This is what Elon wanted." is a pretty good sentence to hang the administration on so far

You know, The Art Of War gets hyped up a lot more than it probably should. Mostly because it's really a primer for coddled nobility and wasn't designed to be the height of strategic doctrine, even for its time. That being said the Dems could really stand to read it.

lil note for the "every available legal remedy" types, please note that my man has a sword. what is the sword for? it's for giving the fascists what they deserve. note also that he's got a bandolier. what is the bandolier for? it's for giving the fascists what they deserve.

You know the fact that I'm 32 and discover still keeps putting ads out assuring me they're accepted everywhere really makes me feel like the opposite is true. Like you seem too desperate about it at this point.
