Looking to watch an incredibly detailed tour of a 1989 Suzuki Super Carry? Courtesy of @calumraasay.bsky.social, you can! youtu.be/g-mwPIW4V5Q?...

Jungle Yachts Massive! This video by @calumraasay.bsky.social covers a true overlander, this subject matter has pretty much become his niche on YT. Calum always puts in the work for these videos, using as much physical media as possible for his research. youtu.be/vN84LhzacxI?...

Stopped at a fuel station and walking outside I found what appears to be a portal to the fey wild

Had two separate people say, “Merry Christmas – or can I even say that anymore?” Yesterday. Like mate, the only one ruining it is you with your “can’t-say-anything-these-days” spiel. Just say it. No one cares. Not everything’s a bloody debate.

The crumbling soviet-esque ruins of Forton Services are my obsession. Nothing else like it.

And so it begins! Our road trip to visit family for new year begins. Skye ➡️ Sylt!

Beautiful fiery light over on Skye

All this Apple Intelligence stuff feel so half-baked, unpolished and… “unApple”? You can tell their heart isn’t it. Big misstep imo

@prokhorvlg.bsky.social you watched that new Amazon series “secret level”? I’m watching the armoured core episode and all the little details and texture reminds me of your work haha

Island life is just moving things to other places to make way for different stuff

It might not look like it, but this shed might be around a century old! My seanair took it from fladda, where his father had used it as a cobbler’s workshop, among other things. Before THAT though it was the post office shed on Rona! I’ve salvaged as much as possible to try and save or reuse.

Windy on the hill today!

Follow the yellow brick road

The best 4x4 by far

On Raasay, the streetlights turn off at 11. If you find yourself walking home late, you’ve only got the northern lights to guide you! ✨

Nothing makes Daisy zoom more than a trip to the beach 🥹

Very little snow but absolutely biting cold this morning! Should have worn my insulated trousers 🥶

Behold: leonies greatest family heirloom. Her grans promotional first gen Twingo towel thats the exact size of a parking space needed for a Renault Twingo!

Big rainbow day on Raasay this morning! (That’s a nice way of saying constant showers)

Sometimes dream about what it would be like turning this into a wee cabin bolthole.

When three volunteers tested the government's nuclear shelter advice, they didn't expect such disturbing results. The women became listless and reported hallucinations after just 48 hours in their makeshift fallout room. My article on the 'York Experiment' here: www.historytoday.com/miscellanies...

Absolutely love this image. The Missle, TIME Magazine, January 1956.

I think the first gen Nissan Juke is a fantastic, cute design that was ahead of its time. It’ll be a future classic. Bookmark this.

Spot the dog who definitely wasn’t begging for pizza

Quick visit to Portree for the messages. Dreich and grey but nice to be able to walk around without crowds of visitors everywhere!

Bit of a different video today, I tried recreating some of my favourite bits of historical engineering with 3D Printing - including a truly massive model of the Antarctic Snow Cruiser! youtu.be/gQz2mcTeUjk?...

Daisy and I back where we belong ⛰️

A chilly walk to work this morning, crunchy underfoot. Some bad weather coming in so last chance to enjoy the frozen stillness 😌

Just to prove it’s not always nice icy vistas. Dark and dreich view from the office today. How can it be getting dark so fast? It’s not even 4 😭

Another day at the office

Frozen wonderland this morning. Wish I could be out walking rather than working but I can hardly complain!
