Right on the money, from my esteemed colleague. www.politico.com/news/magazin...

A question to be reckoned with long after Trump leaves office: now that we all know this *can* happen, how will we possibly convince competent people to work for the federal government?

After witnessing what happened with the J6 insurrectionists, not shocking that Trump apparatchiks aren’t worried about things like “the legality of their actions.”

Niche question: I used to use an app called Researcher, which gave you an RSS-style feed of newly published articles from whichever journals you wanted. It shut down. Any suggestions for a replacement?

🚨 New working paper with @calvin-thrall.bsky.social + Simran Singh 🚨 Private sector demand for climate expertise is skyrocketing. Firms now compete with the government to hire top climate experts. How does this competition affect the state's capacity for climate governance? doi.org/10.31219/osf...

My small part in trying to get people to understand why it seems like running government like a business is a good idea, when in fact it's a terrible one (1/4): www.nytimes.com/2024/12/07/o...

I’ve decided that what I really need is a starter pack of starter packs.

Pretty striking findings! www.parisschoolofeconomics.eu/app/uploads/...

TIL: Arrow’s impossibility theorem came out of his work on the theory of the firm!

open.spotify.com/track/3Rgb7Y... It pains me to admit this, but Sting’s Christmas album is one of the greatest of all time.

on.ft.com/3OBVpCZ If you haven’t been following the exploits of the Adani Group for the past couple years: start today. It has everything: bribery, fraud, geopolitics, political connections, etc.

Just learned about starter packs. Any recs for starter packs in IR/IPE/political economy/etc?

This year, I’m giving thanks for the opportunity to post on yet another new website with my friends.
