Including trauma in fiction allows a reader to have a safe place to process their own hurts! We need more authors willing to step into the uncomfortable to shed light on this topic!

Hello #writesky! Today on my blog, we're discussing how to write excellent trauma in your stories so that you get people engaged with your work. 📝📚💙 wp.me/pgcidV-fZ

This is "Funeral of Hopes," arriving on June 23, 2025 (my birthday)! The cover was done by the wonderful Katarina, who also did the covers for my first two books. You can add "Funeral of Hopes" to your TBR over on Goodreads! www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...

#AskAnAuthor I started school for vet tech and then realized I can't do it because I have extreme sympathetic vomiting, and sick animals tend to puke a lot

Please do not say this, my dogs will think they belong in the kitchen too

Checking a reference, I've had occasion to reread Ursula K Le Guin's Foreword to 'Tales from Earthsea'. The following passage struck me forcefully in the light of current international events. "Past events exist, after all, only in memory, which is a form of imagination. (continues) 1/3

"Chips and salsa while you wait" should be a thing everywhere, not just Mexican restaurants. Trip to the bank? Chips and salsa. Oil change? Chips and salsa. Therapy session? CHIPS. AND. SALSA. You can't tell me we don't deserve this after the last few years.

I very rarely drink, maybe four times a year, and don't use marijuana, but I do know that on the rare times I drink, I can't do anything productive. I also just don't think it's a good habit to get into. There's no reason to destroy your liver for creativity.

Today on my blog, I'm going over what I learned writing and publishing my first fantasy novel, "9 Years Yearning!" This includes the many mistakes I made during the publishing and marketing process. 📝 Take a look! Maybe you'll get some helpful perspectives! 📚💙 wp.me/pgcidV-1bH

The CFPB has: -Returned $20B to victims of financial fraud -Cracked down on junk fees -Fought against politically-motivated debanking -Protected veterans from predatory lenders -Protected consumers' data from corporate abuse Oligarchs want to reverse all of this.

YOU can help immigrant victims of domestic and sexual violence, many of whom are right now trapped with their abusers because of ICE. They cannot call 911 or go to the ER. ASISTA helps them. ONE CLICK gets a vote for a #p4A2025 grant to keep them going! projectforawesome.com/watch?v=a1w7...

I mention food a lot in my fantasy series 'The Eirenic Verses' because food is one of the most accessible elements of culture and teaches you a lot about the people. Everything from climate, interpersonal relations, and family ties are wrapped up in food production and presentation.

FFS! 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 are firing National Park Service EMTs There will be no one to attend to you if you get attacked by wildlife, fall while climbing/hiking, have a skiing incident, are drowning, break a leg/arm/your neck, etc Alex Wilds is one such federal employee. Read what he's saying

Duolingo encouraging global necromancy to reanimate their dead bird mascot genuinely was not on my 2025 bingo, but I guess it should have been

Loved this book! Well worth a read!

My mother always wanted to live in a mock Tudor house so my dad bought some white paint and wrote 'Henry VIII was stupid' on the door.

Going back and forth like this is the best way to get yourself even more stuck. Instead, keep a foldable shovel, ice melt, and kitty litter in your car. Shovel out as best you can, sprinkle ice melt, then pour kitty litter under the tires. Gives you more traction so you can get out.

hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...

It's always been the case that "buying" an ebook from amazon was only actually a loan they could rescind at any point, but lately Amazon have gone harder on this, and it is 100% so that they can wipe banned books from your libraries without your consent. Buy direct from authors. Get your files.

You might have missed it, but Amazon warehouse workers in Raleigh, NC are voting this week on whether to form a union. If they win, they'll be the first unionized Amazon facility in the South. Remember that we can always find hope in the labor movement.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

The House is considering cutting up to $880 billion dollars from Medicaid. This would have a catastrophic impact on people with disabilities. Congress needs to keep their hands off Medicaid.

The future of free speech is being decided now. We're keeping close eyes on the Trump administration to make sure they uphold our First Amendment rights online, in the press, and on campuses.

Do you remember that time Pence tried to see Hamilton and the cast called him out. Or when McConnell was chased out of a resraurant and not allowed a peaceful meal. Or when Cruz abandoned Texas during the deep freeze and we shamed him into going home. That. Do that.

Very proud to announce the Department of Health will now process all requests to change gender designation on birth certificates within three business days. Previously, there was as much as a 10 month wait.

Few animals have ever been unhappier about citrus fruits

Inside me are two separate yet equally important wolves. One who investigates crime, and another who prosecutes the offenders. These are their stories.

I think having a filter is a good and important thing when interacting with other people one on one, actually. "I don't have a filter" is code for "I don't care about the fact that I'm hell to be around" and it's a massive, rancid red flag to me

Yes, saying “hello” to common animals you see on your way to work like squirrels and pigeons makes you a better person. The science just came in.

Everyone say YAYYY Wendy had surgery to remove some potentially cancerous tumors and she was a VERY brave girl about it! She yelled at me to turn off the radio on the way home, then gobbled three chicken tendies (image of her at a happier time because no one likes pics of sick doggos)
