Once again, David Seymour's nasty racist party has less than 10% support.

Watching ACT and Nats basically try and destroy the fabric of Aotearoa for ideological funsies has been super instructional. The cruelty, tone-deafness and just general disregard for society has been a feature since Thatcher actually said it out loud. Fuck these right wing scum.

Christine was the one who suggested we get Descendants tickets. Knowing how important bands are to your origin story is part of a good relationship.

112 opposed, 11 in support, the bill fails to progress. It should never have ever gotten this far, it should never have even gotten out of the gate, but I am so glad it was not just killed, but utterly rejected. Toitū Te Tiriti.

"If the Confederacy was evil so was the United States" Uh huh, correct "If chattel slavery was genocide so was forced removal of Indigenous people" Again, yes "You just hate the opposition" If my opposition is Confederates, then yes, I do, not sorry about that

So our gym is closing. We have about 80-90% of what we need to do workouts at home, but the social aspect of working out in group classes is important. One of the women we see at classes may have found a replacement. We'll see.

@mellopuffy.bsky.social the answer is roughly that basically Canada is being charged 10%, 25% or 35% but no one really knows which. It’s Schrödinger’s tariff.

“Liar Clippy” Perfect. No notes.

They made him sell his peanut farm.

Look Canada, I don't want to tell you how to vote, but if we do this right, a couple months from now, Poilievre will lose his job and WE NEVER HAVE TO HEAR FROM HIM AGAIN.

The credibility of the US government is completely shot. Gone. Annihilated. Nobody anywhere in the world can believe a single word that comes out of this Administration. Ever.

Score another for the Greens being hit with a bad faith smear job, standing upright and speaking clearly and going "Fuck you, and your bigotry, and your attempts to take us down" without any single concession to those who've smeared and attacked them.

imagine being this pathetic, servile and eager to gulp up the slop

Three strikes!?!? THREE STRIKES?!? This is his policy release for today? Failed bullshit from the USA?

The Crown attempted to take a portion of fishing quota from Māori entitlement, to pay what was owed TO MĀORI under the 1992 Sealords deal. #nzpol

Ah, Britain. These septic isles.

Female MPs in NZ report frequent death threats and harassment - The Front Page “Another spoke to the culture at Parliament, about being in a lift with three male colleagues who were making inappropriate, sexualised comments” Absolute mutts!! #nzpol

Watching Radio Canada.

A couple of years ago a lawyer looked at me and said unironically that the Confederacy wasn't apartheid because that would make Israel apartheid and in that moment you could have toppled me over with a feather

“Whaka-“ is a prefix that means to cause something to happen or be. “Tika” means “correct”, so “whakatika” means to correct something. “Kua whakakotahi a Donny i te ao.” “Inei?” “Āe, kei te matakawahia ia e tātou katoa.” “Donny has united the world.” “Really?” “Yes, he’s despised by all of us.”

For your enjoyment: here is Secretary of Education Linda McMahon talking about implementing AI in schools, but pronouncing it "A1," as in "A1 Steak Sauce" www.youtube.com/live/lxrg28z...

okay now that you all have gotten a taste of America's rational and predictable new trade policy, everyone who wants to build your new factories here just form an orderly line

The so-called “demonization” of Israel is in most cases a legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies of occupation, apartheid, and genocide, and other illegal practices.

'Bluesky has overtaken its flailing rival X in hosting posts related to new academic research, indicating the platform is fast becoming the go-to place for scholars to share their work.'

All discussions at the policy level about Law 25 lead to more confusion than clarity. I'm quite tired of it. If the CAQ could release one law with guidelines about how to operationalize it that would be nice

I'm in an intercollegiate meeting, we just has a presentation from our Federation's IT policy guy. Conversation turned to Quebec's Law 25. After it was over, I resumed the information with a collegue using this gif media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2l...

Instructional designers/pedagogical support/counsellors are, often, techno-optimists at heart. I have to tell you that it pains me. It pains me more that many of us rarely ask « ok, we can, but should we? » about tech.
