my last childhood cat was put to sleep this week; he died in my mother's arms. the same day, i met a puppy in public; someone's 8 week old golden retriever, bursting with joy and enthusiasm. wild how lives end, and how they begin. sometimes it feels like a metronome that is speeding up. i am aging.

i really dont want to like aesop but it's actually so good

republicans are all about states' rights until the state would like to charge car owners a small fee to enter the country's densest city streets

accidentally typed “i moss you” instead of “i miss you”. but maybe this wasn’t a mistake. i’m leaning into this. wishing you abundance, groundedness, quiet and resilient steady growth.

inviting my friends to a "housewarming" party and surprising them by having my thermostat on full blast and serving popsicles

my unpopular take is that humanoid robots are boring and uncreative

the downside of running in nyc in the winter is that it's cold. but the upside is that there's a city-sponsored effort to ensure there are electrolytes at the ready on the sidewalk at all times, and that counts for a lot

i genuinely don’t know who to root for in an elon vs sama showdown

states i believe i could thrive in/have my energy: - minnesota - vermont - new mexico

the chocolate chip cookie is the perfect dessert. the artistry in the simplicity. when executed perfectly it is literally impossible to beat.

kind of interesting how some fruits have a much more intensely passionate fanbase than others. banana and mango people are over the top! but you don't see a big cantaloupe fanbase, no one has cantaloupe-shaped throw pillows on their couches

when you go trail running in the dark during a windstorm and try to get cute photos but they end up looking like scenes from a horror movie

democrats need to become the party of growth and make global liberalism cool again. i think people are ready for this. the party doesn't seem to be

pretty terrified by the speed at which people are losing their ability to read, think, and write and express themselves

i want to like insulated coffee thermoses like yeti or what not, but they are too good at keeping coffee hot when what i want is lukewarm / room temp coffee :(

do you think there's any chance this is going badly enough it'll slow or halt a global rightward shift?

the tariffs are going to be amazing for canadian patriotism
