Concerns on centralisation aside, a Glasgow mayor allows residents to know who to go to, MPs/MSPs can't do anything unless they're in cabinet and expecting folk to know which councillor to go to is unrealistic. I've become very cynical, when I read "thousands of farmers" on the BBC, my mind translated that to: 1000 tory party members and councillors, 300 Reform supports and 4 actual farmers. You know I'm right though.
