There are no distractions. It's all bad. Systematically stripping trans people of their rights, guys in balaclavas shoving any brown person with a tattoo into a ummarked vans, ending healthcare for millions. It's all in service of fascism and technofeudalism. It's all one thing. That's the point.

HECK YEAH!!! @nalohop.bsky.social @margaret.bsky.social @vajra.me Andrea Hairston Pls don't make me choose between them!!!! What a banger of a shortlist from the best of all prizes.

The “welfare reform bill” is out and let’s be clear: this is not reform - it is devastating cuts. Disabled people will be made poorer, sicker, and more isolated as a result. That it is a Labour government causing this misery will be a mark of shame on the party for years to come.

A nasty Collaborator.

You have to read to paragraph 10 to find the key sentence: "The disorder primarily affects people from an African-Caribbean background." www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Labour are lying when they justify cutting PIP by saying it will get people 'back into work'. It is not an unemployment benefit. PIP helps with the extra costs of being disabled. There is no job-related criteria because having a job doesn't make it any cheaper to be disabled.

At last it can be told. My novel Blackheart Man shares the shortlist for the Ursula K Le Guin Prize with some other intriguing titles, and I am so pleased! www.ursulakleguin.com/prize25

I've been asked why a thread with Indigenous scholarship matters. If you knew how often we are written about, while our own contribution is not considered, or if you knew how often people say there are no Indigenous scholars in their field, when they do exist, I hope it would chill you. That's why.

The government's welfare Bill is a cruel and disgusting attack on disabled people and their right to live in dignity. MPs should ask themselves: did you become an MP so you could push thousands of disabled people into poverty?

End of times for some of us. Disability cuts. This government can fund war and killing. The alternative to disability funding is the assisted dying bill. All connected.

As an Australian cognitive scientist I endorse this message.

I'm begging white people to understand wtf is going on right now. 20 months of genocide, the US on the verge of bombing yet another majority Muslim country. We are sick of it & we're making a point of reposting every anti-war voice, especially if it's a fascist like Tucker, in the hope that you...

From the stories of tragedy on this quilt to a twice a year shot. Amazing.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? Pretty much every basic thing about IP law.

I find the intergenerational beef between millennials and gen z embarrassing, but this is a very boomer rendering of what millennials are like, which I guess makes sense given it is published in the Times

Good to know. But sad that I'm as stupid as I guessed. Sigh.

Starmer: deporting children without their parents. What an absolutely vile human being this creep is.

Love this anecdote. Smell is so important to our sensory experiences.

Strange how, when the BBC platforms transphobic hate groups it never sees the need for balance. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
