My hipster gaming take is: Marathon > Halo. *Follow me for more obscure, absurd takes.

We're back in nomination season. Here's my eligible work across every field I work in from last year.

This old man still has some fight in him (disregard how long it took me to complete the stage, lol). I never hit 100% lol.

Watched the 2005 Doom movie, which is The Rock (playing Space Marine Rock), Karl Urban (playing Space Marine Karl Urban), a religious fanatic, Quagmire from Family Guy, two racial stereotypes, and a one-and-done racist joke fight monsters in Mars.

Every year I engage in a "dumb project". I think this year's dumb project will be engaging all available stuff I can get that's related to Doom. Almost done playing Doom 1; read the comic book today (what a gloriously stupid read, btw) That means ::gulps:: watching the Doom movie starring The Rock.

Speaking of FPS. I went into one of my random craves and have been playing the OG Wolfenstein and Doom and... I had forgotten how excellent Doom is. Kinda silly to say about such an influential game, but it is truly amazing and holds up spectacularly well.

Blood!

Hi guys! I know I haven't been on this account for a few days but part of that is because everything kind of went to hell in the last week or so and I find myself as a newly single parent after my husband left w/out warning. I've established a GoFundMe cause I am seriously screwed.

I really thought Pokemon Go was dead but there was a sizeable number of people at my nearby park who were playing, and proudly so I may add because there was a dude wearing an Ash Ketchum Cap, an old lady with a Pikachu hat, and a dude with a Snorlax shirt. Glad people are still out there having fun

I have a personal policy against photographing strangers so just take my word when I tell you there is an adorable old lady wearing a Pikachu hat playing Pokemon Go at the park.

Had an incredibly specific anger today that required a very specific form of videogame catharsis.

What an experience this is, writing a novel. Ya'll won't believe what I just did. I did the two spaces for new paragraph thing within a chapter. Not the normal one space, the paragraph. No, two spaces. Whaaaa?! Crazy, I know!

For some reason my daughter really got into Brooklyn 99 and we have been watching the whole series. Yesterday we started Season 8 and that 1st episode really serves as a time marker for the aftereffects and cultural transformation that came with the end of the previous season.

I do not know if owls have orgies, but the sounds coming from outside my window right now seem to indicate that they hold spectacular bacchanals.

- In the Realm of the Senses - 2046 - Uncle Boonmee, who can Recall his past lives - That Night In Varennes - Kirikou and the Sorceress - The VVitch - Pierrot Le Fou - Marketa Lazarová - Lost Highway - The Return of Martin Guerre

Finally got to use "That's it, man! Game over, man! Game over!" in conversation. Still holding hope that I'll be able to use "TO THE WINCH, WENCH!" one day.

I know most people love working from home in their PJs, but I much prefer my common attire of loose clothing, woolen phrygian cap and cape because it keeps me properly grounded in my status of successful medieval peasant.

My 10yo's review of "Wicked": "The colors are weird; people's faces were too glossy and looked like plastic. The pacing was atrocious (the boy loves that word) and the music was just adequate". 😬
