I personally volunteer to take them far, far out into the backcountry...oops, watch that slippery slickrock.

My fondest wish is to be reincarnated as a raven in a canyon.

I think many know but they just don't care. If you're a small woman like me, if two or more guys are hiking toward you, they'll run you right over if you don't step aside. I've taken to holding my trekking poles forward aggressively. It's ridiculous.

That's a cool canyon. I went up quite a way one day last winter.

Trail is often my starter word and it's actually come up twice as the day's word since I started doing Wordle.

Preferably with a side of cyanide ketchup to hasten the process.

Stop assuming that all older voters voted for Trump. He has plenty of young supporters - take a look at the J6 footage. You do no one any good with this.

Time for a belly rub!

My Hyperlite Southwest 40 is the best-fitting pack I've owned in 45 years of backpacking. It stands up to the rigors of off-trail hiking and provides plenty of volume for a full-comfort setup (10 deg bag, pillow, etc.).

Yesterday on fb I posted an old photo of myself with my biathlon rifle but then thought better about it and deleted it. But I was always a better shot than I was a skier.

At least once a day I find myself musing on the idea that we should work on it faster.

Totally normal. Makes me relax just looking at them.

I'm up at 3:30 AM doomscrolling and snacking on Dot's pretzels.

I wondered about that too. Not much for a bear to eat out there - especially right now - but who knows?

I thought badger, too but the print seemed too big. Unfortunately this was the only clear print - yesterday there was just a little snow in the shady spots and the rest of the canyon floor is soft sand.

I did think about that - seems more likely.

Until recently I was a vanlifer and took advantage of all the free camping just outside the park. The area around Torrey has wonderful summer weather - highs mostly in the 80s.

Yes! I used to live just down the road and treated like my own backyard. Nice campground, awesome hiking.

I'm knocking off Hayduke sections...not sure that Youngs Canyon solo would be my cup of tea. Looks awesome, though.

David Roberts. Mountaineering in Alaska to hiking the entirety of Comb Ridge, and lots on Cedar Mesa and Ancestral Ourbloans.

I've thought about changing my trail name to Cairn Terrier. They're the visual equivalent of pissing on a fire hydrant. If I see one that's obviously a vanity project - or where there's a clear, 2-ft wide trail - I dismantle them.

Love it! That one I didn't think of.

I've taken up watercolor again after a long hiatus. World's most frustrating medium.😉 This is a beautiful piece!
