Birks Bldg, Sparks St., 1911. #colourized Built by Rosenthal fam 1910-11, who then sold their jewellery biz to Birks in 1911. (Looks like Rosenthal going-out-of-business banners in windows.) Founders son/2nd gen Martin Rosenthal was VP of Ottawa HC in Silver Seven era. Bldg still stands @ 107 Sparks

The Time Jimi Hendrix Recorded a Joni Mitchell Concert: In 1968, Hendrix sat in the front row of a Joni Mitchell concert in Ottawa to record her performance. Decades later, the tapes surfaced in a private collection donated to the Library and Archives Canada.
