Asking someone if they understand you even if they don't agree is powerful. Most of the time you will not change someone's mind in a conversation. However if they understand the reasoning, it sets their brain up to revisit how the information was processed so they can change their own mind

Protip: Placing a plastic bag (shopping, trash, etc) inside the sink when shaving your beard will reduce cleanup time, keep the area tidy, and negate the chance of stray hairs being mistaken for spider legs.
