Today, we honor the life of Jimmy Carter, a man who dedicated himself to serving others. From his military service to his presidency and his tireless humanitarian efforts, he embodied selflessness and compassion. His heart matched the greatness of his legacy. Rest in peace, President Carter.

Tim Walz just capped prescription copays for Minnesotans at $25. In case Donold wants suggestions for his “concepts of a plan.”

Harry Truman was born in 1884.

Guys, C-SPAN is momentarily in a state of lawless anarchy.

Andy Kim's sons make business cards for MVP Harris so they can stay in touch. 💙

This Speaker vote should remind all of us that literally nothing Republicans try to do will be easy, or a foregone conclusion. And often, they are going to have to come to Democrats to enact anything at all. We have lost power but we are not powerless.

Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands requested that delegates and PR’s Resident Commissioner vote to make a point about the lack of representation territories have. She was denied, mic muted and gaveled down, but was applauded by House Democrats for speaking up. 💙💪🏽

Not the biggest news today, but still worth noting: in the 119th Congress, Alabama will have two Black U.S. representatives serving together for the first time in history. This didn't happen during Reconstruction. It took nearly 60 years after the Voting Rights Act, and lengthy litigation.

Kinda surprised they're not all back there vaping and trading Pokemon cards

The sad reality is, the overwhelming majority of Americans don't know there's a voter for the Speaker going on, don't care & won't be able to name him after the vote. This is what happens in a country where civics education is no longer universal. Its absence lets darkness settle in over democracy.

yeremi colino, a teenager stabbed to death in NYC last night by a group of men after he told them he didn’t speak english, deserves as much attention as the healthcare CEO, if not more. let’s give it to him. www.amny.com/new-york/man...

Meanwhile in S Korea the impeach the President party is absolutely lit

Related to the conversation about the CEO’s assassination, I posted this just ten days ago. Again, I’m not justifying violence but reminding folks that, historically speaking, businessmen and billionaires who screw over ordinary people wind up reaping the whirlwind.

The House voted 204-198 to block release of the Gaetz ethics report. All Dems present voted to release, along with Republican Tom McClintock of CA. Every other Republican present voted to keep Gaetz's violations covered up. Again, Gaetz is accused of sex trafficking and statutory rape.

I've often pondered the fact that when I became a US Attorney, I had to stop selling the occasional skein of hand-dyed yarn on Etsy (I'm a knitter for those of you who don't know me) to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. That seems quaint & laughable now.

I just posted about corporate leaders bowing down and showing anticipatory obedience. Then I saw this. Shameful.

Assuming all fanfiction is written poorly really just shows you've never been caught in the chokehold of a 150k slowburn that changed the course of your life at 2:40am written by someone whose username has 4 Zs in it and they only wrote one fic and then vanished like an ethereal legend.

This post from the Biden administration is only going to encourage MAGA cultists to deep fry *more* frozen turkeys and I for one wish them all the best as they burn down their own homes to stick it to the Deep State

Less than a month after the election, the GOP introduces a bill to eliminate the Department of Education. SMH. www.newsweek.com/republican-p...

It is a strange day when we are asking you to enjoy air travel, but here we are. Hope your flights go well! And read about why next year, things will be much less fun.

We all need a tiger onesie right now.

Matt Gaetz has now removed more criminal insurrectionists from Congress in 1 day than Merrick Garland did in 4 years.

I will guarantee that Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development will once again be an African American because he saw it had "urban" in the title. That's how Ben Carson, a neurosurgeon with no experience in urban policy, wound up heading it the last time around.

Someone should tell Trump he has already set the Guinness world record for inexperienced Cabinet picks and he can stop now.

This is terrible and will undermine democracy and rule of law. It is important that people are starting to understand that the Durham investigations were Trump's first foray into the political use of criminal prosecutions. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...

Zing!

SO IMPORTANT. Let’s send an IMMEDIATE message!

Isn’t it a pity when a fascist can’t decide between launching a massive trade war and sucking up to the corporate class?

You know we're down bad as a country when Marco Rubio is considered a measured cabinet pick

This is it right here. And Kamala won every state where college graduates make up 40 percent or more of the population. Trump won every state where college graduation is below 40 percent.

MAGA’s embrace of RFK Jr’s “Make America Healthy Again” is so funny because these same people CRUCIFIED Michelle Obama for daring to suggest that American kids should have access to healthy lunches in school.

“There are five areas that authoritarians want to control when they attempt to decapitate a democratic state, authoritarian expert Timothy Snyder writes: health, law, administration, defense & intelligence... each of these arenas, the goal is to create chaos — and yes, even death.” bit.ly/3ABgZEm
