One minute with the little wigglers, Ingrid, Kelby, and Jagger.

“I am gonna take up the whole darn studio” Loli the foster cat.

So much more activity from these little two-weekers. Kelby is progressing fastest with fully open eyes. Ingrid (grey) is lagging the other two. Tonight Kelby was watching me with interest. 24/7 access to the food bar has created 3 roly polies!

No snow in Phoenix, but we do have Palo Verdes.

I think he likes living here!

Jagger kitten. Future troublemaker.

Bath time for Kelby.

Their eyes are starting to open. Still waiting to confirm the sex for the grey kitten. The dark boy is going to be Jagger, and the orange female (yes female) will be Kelby. Mom Misty is a bobtail, which she passed on to Jagger. The other two kittens have tails.

Thank you to Brian of Bill’s Frames for doing a fantastic job framing this beautiful old painting. No information other than it came out of the personal collection of Rip Woods. I absolutely love it. I highly recommend using Brian for all your framing needs. Bills Frames, Tempe AZ. 480-968-1771.

Babies!

1 minute with Misty and her 1 week old kittens.

Lovely time with Misty and babes. I sat in the cage and petted her head with a bare hand. She keeps giving me sweet looks. Babies are suckling and suckling and suckling…

I believe the kittens were born on Monday and it feels like they have already doubled size. I think Misty is going to warm up to me soon. She gives me lots of warm looks.

Fantastic protest in Phoenix today. LARGE turnout!

Beautiful progress for Misty and the kittens. Teenage mom Misty is a very pretty. She has some tricolor and she is a Manx or bobtail. She was brave enough to come eat while I sat a foot away from the cage. I hope she will be social enough to get adopted with the kittens.

Just a quick little look through the cage covering to check on Misty and babies. At this point I want to leave them alone as much as possible.

Misty has been living in a Phoenix apartment complex parking lot and she had her kittens stashed in the bed of a parked truck. Someone moved the kittens into a box behind a bush. It was a huge relief to find them. So glad Diego reached out while the kittens are still tiny. No street life for them.

Loaf on a log.

Loli the foster cat.

Believe it or not, this is a cat. Actually this is Loli the foster cat laying flat on her back. She comes to me now asking to be petted. And if I don’t notice her, she calls out to me. More progress.

Phoenix

I ended up saying goodbye to the friendliest kittens ever. They are so delightful. Even though they are still sick, AAWL is going to finish the fostering on site. That way they will go up for adoption as soon as possible. Left to right: Grigsby, Fanny, and Harlow.

These kittens are the most affectionate loving kittens ever. They came from the former home of Eugene Grigsby. Some of you may have known the prominent Phoenix artist and educator. So I decided to change the name of boy kitten Griffin to Grigsby. From top to bottom: Harlow, Fanny, and Grigsby.

Studio foster cat Loli. I sat on the floor to take this pic and she came over for a tiny bit of petting. So lovely that she did that. The painting is by artist Jerry Schutte.

It looks more interesting than it is. I am adding weight to areas of the paper to help it dry flat. Old metal objects for the win.

Friendliest kittens ever! Harlow (grey girl), Griffin (black boy), Fanny (black girl). Hard to get pics because they are climbing all over me. Big purrs from all three. Feeling better after their first dose of meds today for upper respiratory infections. These kittens absolutely love people.

Up close with Loli. Studio life is a big step forward for her.

Three little friendlies. Unfortunately they are super congested and sick. Hoping to have meds for them tomorrow. No names or sexes yet.

Really nice Town Hall for Yassamin Ansari. She showed heart and support for what her constituents are feeling and communicating. She was feeling our support and applause.

Elliot. Trapped Sept 16th, 24. Was in small cage, a bigger cage, a room, a whole house and now with a whole cat fenced backyard. Enjoying a warm day with bird sounds, wind chimes and active breezes.

Miss Muriel Wilson, retired from baby making in 2023. Current job: mini diva.

Greetings were had. Loli the foster cat and my cat Sammi. Nice to have Loli out and about.

This is progress. Foster cat Loli out and about right next to me. She is definitely enjoying her expanded real estate.

New studio housing for foster cat Loli. No more cages. She has a long ways to go, but let’s see if she turns out to be an art critic.

Utility workers came out today and abandoned our gas line. Felt great to get rid of the gas stove and glad to have natural gas completely off our property. Btw, they are required by law to do this if you request it.

Cat Sammi has been spending more time in the cat fenced backyard. Cat Isis has thoughts.

I called husband to say that Elliot was missing and why had he been in my studio last night? Husband had no idea that he let Elliot into the studio and professes innocence on currently missing cat. So I am standing on the back porch, holding the phone, and talking. And I look to my left. Yeah, this.

Steel baron Andrew Carnegie celebrated the “contrast between the palace of the millionaire and the cottage of the laborer,” for although industrialization created “castes,” it created “wonderful material development,”… (see comment below)

Came into studio after I got home and found Elliot. A mystery since he should be in the house. Husband is involved 😒🤨🤔

Elliot is being allowed to run around the house today. 😊

Dictator or Dick Tator by artist Eric Cox.

No baby making for this boy. Polkadot being released back to his colony.

FYI.

Most of this colony has been fixed thanks to the hard work and money of others. But we are heading into kitten season. Please adopt a zero policy for kittens. Take action. Kittens born on the street are almost always sick and are unlikely to find a loving home. The cats deserve better.
